The Ripple Effect (#3) By J.A Saare

There is always a price to pay…

Rhiannon Murphy visited the future, witnessed hell on earth and made choices to change things for the greater good. Unfortunately there are consequences for her actions, the penalties for her interference possibly more than she can bear. Determined to sever her debt with a fallen angel, she pushes everything aside, focusing on locating Marigold Vesta’s resting place.

Until death comes knocking at her door.

When Disco’s maker arrives in New York, he resents Rhiannon on a level she can’t begin to comprehend. Yet Marius isn’t her most dangerous adversary, not by a long shot. Marius’s sire -- a half-demon -- is determined to see the necromancer who stunned the vampire world on her knees. If she won’t bend, he’ll do everything in his power to make her break. No price is too high, meaning no one is safe -- including Disco and Paine.

Dealt a blow from which she can never recover, Rhiannon turns to the only person who can help her: the fallen angel who is relying on Rhiannon to save her soul. Bartering with a creature from Heaven is probably just as dangerous as starting a war with a demon from Hell, but with nothing to lose it’s no longer about life or death.

It’s about getting even.

Elena's Review:

Rhiannon Law #18: No one asks for their life to change, but it does. The bad things we face are tests created to separate the strong from the weak. Once you've found your place-as the savage lion or the tranquil lamb-it's up to you to take the next step,to decide what comes after.Even If it means destroying everything standing in your path on the road to deliverance."

This series is rock solid full of awesomeness!

Rhiannon Murphy,is and never will be the typical Heroine you should expect. If she saids she'll "make you quiver with fear" believe it! She has been through hell and back. Literally, at this point she has absolutely nothing to lose. Giving into the head masters demands and his leader don't quite run as they want it, she'll bow down to no one,and sacrifice herself only for the people she loves and who she's loyal to,no one else. So these vampires can laugh at her tactics, but they'll run like cowards without realizing they're being screwed my a mere human.

There wasn't anything in this novel that was expected. Just the complete opposite. Almost every other chapter was a jaw dropping moment. I've rubbed my chest above my heart a dozen times. Wow! Just Wow! Heartache, betrayals, torture, love between friends and family, and DEATH. These Vampires who thought they could have Rhiannon beg and bow to them, just made themselves the enemy. Revenge, is what Rhia's good at. And boy-oh boy, the irony of it could make her enemies dead in their graves still fear her.

Disco and Paine's involvement with Rhiannon is just the chocolate drizzle on a strawberry. My goodness, will their relationship ever get a rest? I'm afraid it might never. I've never read so much pain, and the lengths of what one would do for someone they love. These men show it with no regrets. *sighs*

My thoughts are still running non-stop. The author put her all into this novel. It was downright perfection! The fourth novel to this series, is still undecided. It would be ashamed not to finish writing the series. But at least with this novel, readers get somewhat of a closure. There's no huge cliffhanger, just a cliffy to make you wonder what will happen in the future. Disco is enraged and is willing to bring the vampiric world to war with everyone and they're creators. Gosh! The thought of Disco taking over makes Rhiannon quiver. Seriously? That is beyond enthralling. I would say "Bring it!" these two as a team could make the world crumble.

"Rhianon: I let go of one final scream, the harsh sound echoing in the morning air, carrying on the breeze as an endless cry that blended with the wind.Only this wasn't a call to the angels. This was a warning to those who would pay,a promise to all enemies. I was coming for the them and,Heaven,or Hell,I was bring death with me."

OH BABY!!! That line gave me the gooseflesh! My Goodness this series is amazing!

I'm holding my breath and crossing my fingers that there will be a fourth book. For those of you,who haven't read this series, give it a go. J.A Saare has brought a whole new meaning to Urban Fantasy and I assure you,you will not be disappointed.

Thanks for having me!

*Elena’s Questions for Jaime

Q: If you had the opportunity to write with another author, who would it be?

A: Oh man, that’s tough! There are so many authors I admire. I recently devoured Carolyn Cranes’s Disillusionist Trilogy (I’m eagerly waiting for book three) and would love to work with her. She has such a beautiful voice and a talent for storytelling.

Q: While writing the “The Renfield Syndrome,” you chose to add the Lycans / Werewolves into the story. Was it to get your readers excited or do you have a plan? Will the werewolves continue into the coming book?
A: The simple answer is yes, werewolves will reappear in future instalments. I’m not sure of when that might be.  I’ve always been drawn to shifters, so I wanted to incorporate them into the books.

Q: Here’s a question I hope you can answer; Will Paine get his HEA?

A: I have a general idea of where things are going, so I’d like to “think” he will. However, I’m not a plotter when I write. I have a general idea of where things will go but usually that changes as the story progresses. I want Paine to have his HEA. He’s a character I’ve always loved.

*Rhonda’s Question’s for Jaime

Q: I love to read great kick ass heroines, and I’ve only met a few. Rhiannon Murphy straight up ROCKS! She’s smart, witty, kicks ass, and I love her sense of humour. She is among my favorite heroines, a list she shares with; MacKayla Lane (Fever series), Sinead Donnelly (Demonica series) , Xhex, (BDB) Catherine Crawfield (Night Huntress) , Rose Hathaway (Vampire Academy), Eugenie Markham ( Dark Swan) and Piper Anast ( Piper’s Fury) .
What was your inspiration for creating Rhiannon Murphy?

A: Thank you so much! I’m thrilled that you enjoy reading Rhiannon since she’s a blast to write. Creating her was actually a flash in the pan. I had a glimpse one day of a young woman who worked in a strip club as a bartender and saw dead people. I told my husband about it, he said it sounded interesting, and I literally sat down and started writing.  Her first law came out of nowhere. She is one of those characters that are very vocal, so her “voice” came very naturally to me.

Q: Out of all the books you’ve written, what character is the most fun for you to write? Which Character is most Challenging?

A: Rhiannon is the most fun to write, hands down. She says what she thinks and I love that about her. Disco is the hardest. I’ve been trying to write a vignette from his point of view for months. Each time I start, I can’t hear anything from him.
Q: “The Renfield Syndrome” was pretty gory, and I loved it!! The chick fight between Rhiannon and Jackson was awesome, which scene in Renfield Syndrome was your favorite to write??
A: The scene you mentioned. *smile* It was so much fun to write a fight scene where anything goes. I love horror, so the gory aspects were right up my alley.
Q: Can you tell us about anything you are working on right now or give us a sneak peak?
A: Right now I’m working on the third book in the Rhiannon’s Law series, The Ripple Effect. I’m also working on erotic works under my Aline Hunter pen. It’s nice to be able to go back and forth. Rhiannon is a very dark character, so writing romance is a nice breather. I do have a new urban fantasy in the works. I can’t say much aside from I started writing it last year and I hope to wrap it up as soon as the books I’m contracted for are finished.

Five Question Quickie (short answers)

Q: What are your 3 favorite horror movies?

A: Fright Night, Fright Night II, and The Company of Wolves. I love those!
Q: What’s your favorite TV show?

A: Archer
Q: What is your favorite music genre?

A: Nine Inch Nails -- anything by Trent Reznor.
Q: What are your 3 favorite book series?
A: I love Joey W. Hill’s Vampire Queen Series, Patricia Brigg’s Mercy Thompson series, and Kelley Armstrong’s Tales of the Otherworld.
Q: Favorite food?
Filet Mignon. So expensive but so good!
Thanks again for having me by the blog! It’s been a pleasure!

The Renfield Syndrome - J.A Sarre'

Today Elena and Rhonda are introducing something new to the blog. Both ladies have read
The Renfield Syndrome Rhiannon's Law Book Two
By J.A Saare’
And together have done a joint review, a mash up if you will. I must take a moment to compliment the girls for their great effort. I am yet to read this book but after reading your joint review, I cannot wait to start this awesome series. Well done!

The Renfield Syndrome Rhiannon's Law Book Two

Publisher: Mundania Press
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Vampires, and werewolves, and demons, oh my.
Rhiannon thought facing off against a deranged child vampire was the most dangerous task she would ever have to undertake, but she’s about to discover making a deal with a demon is far, far worse. Sent forward into another reality, one in which vampires are now dominating nearly extinct humans, she realizes the sooner she returns to her vampire lover, Disco, the better.
Unfortunately, time changes a lot of things; including those most trusted around her. When she’s faced with a loss and betrayal unlike any she has ever known, her focus shifts from severing the debt between the demon that wants to kill her, to exacting a revenge that will bring forth consequences she never could have fathomed. By reaching out to the darkness lingering within her, she’ll find the strength to push forward despite the circumstances that would see her dead and buried.
After all, when it’s all said and done, all that she has left to lose is her soul.

Read the First Chapter of The Renfield Syndrome

Joint Review...
Rhonda: J.A. Sarre had me at “Undead” (Dead, Undead or Somewhere In Between, Rhiannon’s Law #1 ) I loved that book so much, and Renfield Syndrome has been a highly anticipated book for me. I was super excited that Elena decided to join me on this crazy, awesome ride, even though she left me in the dust. LOL!

Elena: I do have a tendency of leaving my friends in a buddy read behind. BUT, all for a good reason. I just can’t help it! If you haven't read this series, then smack yourself upside your head, cause you deserve it! Hehe.... It's such a crazy, suspenseful, mind-blogging series! Edge of your seat and biting your finger nail kinda good! I'm hanging by a thread here. Waiting for the next novel is complete torture! Grrrrrr......

Rhonda: If you’re a lover of PNR and UF, this series does not disappoint!! Vampires, Werewolves, and Demons OH MY!! Rhiannon strikes a bargain with a demon, and is catapulted 101 years into the future, to a demonic post apocalyptic New York in search of Disco, her oh so sexy vampire boyfriend, to try and fulfil her end of the bargain.

Elena: What Rhonda said above, I’d take her in on her opinion if I were you. I assure you, she’s not lying. After Rhiannon falls flat on her ass, into the future, 101 years later in NY, to a city she no longer recognizes. My first thought was, " Oh No! She was suppose to go back and have more smexin with Disco", My heart thumped, spasmed and skipped a beat at that thought. Back to the story. Who the hell does Zagan think he is? Yeah, I know, a creepy Demon that takes advantages of bargains and debts owed. Creep De-Lou Bastard. Back to the topic again.... Rhiannon has to fulfill her part of the bargain, the bargain she made to Zagan. Which was to give one message to Disco. What message? Read it, and find out :P I can tell you one thing, "Mad shite goes down in this novel"!!

Rhonda: Saare’s writing is top notch, she tells Rhiannon’s first person POV is flawlessly. Her Characterization is awesome, from Rhiannon’s bad-ass, witty, “don’t fuck with bull, you’ll get the horns” personality. To Paine… who just made my heart ache. All the secondary characters were really well developed too. This ride was crazy good, biting lip, twisting fingers kinda awesome!

Elena: Rhiannon’s character is so intriguing and easy to love. Actually, I wanna love all the characters in this novel forever and ever. Lol!! Whaaa? Can't I have a happily ever after? RIGHT.... In my dreams ahahaha..... Rhiannon, Disco and Paine = Pure hot tingly sensations that'll make your bones quiver! The word "HOT" doesn't symbolize their true nature of what they're made of. Whew! Everything is all good in their neighbourhood. The person that broke my heart and shattered it to pieces was, Paine. Why oh why did the author take that direction with his story? Oh Helpmerhonda I almost passed out :P It took me so long to get used to things. I'm not sure if I ever will like him in that sorta way. Just because Disco will always be my one and only *Sighs* although Disco p'd me off with his head invasion Grrr! All in all. Saare wrote such a phenomenal series that I'm so addicted to, I don't want it to ever end. EVER!
Rhonda: Okay, I'm gonna defend Disco here. That "Mind Invasion" was wrong, buuuuut.... I don't see any other way for him to believe in Rhiannon. Now Paine, he was really sweet, and I hope he gets his HEA, I was thinking about Jennifer, Rhiannon’s sister. What if Rhiannon has to take her to NY, and Paine finds the same..... Traits in her that he finds in Rhiannon?? That would be awesome!!!! But Disco is da bomb, for sure!! Now the wait is on for book 3. Gaaaaahhhh!! Mrs. Saare, you torture me, and I loved every page!!

Elena: You got a point there Rhonda. Everyone is in the wrong in this novel. But it is what it is and I LOVE this book for all those reasons. *rubs hands together* Paine and Jennifer? Nice thinking!!
