Faythe Reclaimed Dream Cast

First off, I’d like to thank Sam, E and R’s Awesomeness for letting me hang out on their blog today. I’m feeling totes special and all kinds of fuzzy!

I don’t know about you, but Dream Cast posts are some of my favorite to read. I love reading about which actor/actress authors envision playing their beloved characters. On the flip side, I also love discovering who readers dream of when reading my books. So much fun!

With this in mind, I though it would be fun to give you a sneak peak into a few of the famous people I think of when I picture the characters from Faythe Reclaimed in my mind. Hope you enjoy!

My choice for Taylor is actress Shelly Hennig. I’m a huge fan of The Secret Circle and have always thought the character Diana was beautiful. She’s not as quirky and ditzy (on the show) as Taylor, but she’s a good match for how I envision her in my head.

Whoa, baby! They don’t come much hotter than Joe Manganiello. Gabriel Castillo is a smokin’ hot Latin warlock. He’s tough, brooding and sports a deliciously ripped body. Joe has these qualities in spades, and I think he’d make a great Gabriel. Rawr!!!

Prudence Lovegaurd is Faythe/Taylor’s closest friend in Salem Village. She’s a beautiful girl––both inside, and out–– and has an innocent quality, I believe, actress Amanda Seyfried personifies beautifully. I can totally picture her in pilgrim garb with her big beautiful eyes shining beneath a white bonnet. Amanda is hands down my favorite choice for Prue.

This was a fun, fast read and my first by Maggie Marr.

Meg Parson has learned the hard way that you do not fall for your boss, the is a huge no-no, but having a boss like Cole Jackson has made that near impossible. Though Meg has fought the good fight, having been Cole's executive assistant for enough time that she has become an expert at hiding her feelings, and apparently so has Cole. All that comes to an end when Cole decides that he has had enough trying to hide his feelings for Meg. Now, I have to say that there were certain parts of this story that left me feeling a bit cold towards Cole but he did redeem himself, so I can live with that. All in all this was exactly what it is presented as, as quick fun contemporary romance and I enjoyed it! Having read this I will absolutely read more by this author in the future.

Sam's Review:

This is the second book this week I have bought from Amazon on a whim and haven’t been disappointed. This is a good, solid romance book that continues to give me reasons to purchase small press authors and give them a chance. Because every now and again you stumble upon ones like this that makes all the crappy ones, worth it.

Firstly when you read this book, you’re getting a romance story. Not a book claiming to be romance but is actually more along the lines of hot porn. It’s kind of hard to find a book like this these days. The Marriage Bargain, we really get to know the characters and their lives behind what people are seeing. I loved that the H/H didn’t fall straight in to bed with one another. The sexual tension that was built in this story was palpable. The author kept placing in perfectly well timed interruptions during heated moments that it took over half the book to get into anything hot and heavy and by then I was ready to jump on anyone’s lap. The few sexual encounters that the author gives are, are neither to graphic or unstimulating – the author found the perfect balance for this Modern Contemporary Romance.

Honestly this book was well written, I thought it was a bit jumpy in the beginning but soon got used to it, and found it necessary to move through the story. It is the book that you just want cuddle up on the couch with and not put back down. I didn’t think it was a very long book (I get confused on my kindle) – but it wasn’t novella material. I do however wish there would have been an epilogue. There were something’s I would have loved to seen fore filled.

So in conclusion? It pays off every now and then to take a chance on a book that you otherwise may not have purchased, because I think this one was a gem just waiting to be found.

Two friends meet in the office of one of them, a notorious techno-geek.

"Hey, bud, how are ya?"

"I'm good. Congratulations, that new secretary of yours is beautiful!"

"Well, I'm glad you like her. Believe it or not, she's a robot!"

"No way, how could that be?"

So, his friend takes her into the restroom and is in there with her for a while. Suddenly, he hears him screaming "Eeeeyaaaaa! Heeelp" Ooooooh! Aaaaaaah! eeeeeeeeeaaargghhhh!"

The guy says, "Shit! I forgot to tell him her ass is a pencil sharpener!"

     Sam's Review:

First I have to say, when I saw the email come through for Defiant from my old pal, Pamela asking if we wanted to read an early copy of Defiant, I got a little jumpy. But when I got the actual book, well I was like a teenage fan girl who had just scored front row tickets to see One Direction in concert! I was ecstatic, and after reading the book my eagerness was not wasted at all.

Defiant is the lucky third book in the sexy MacKinnon’s Rangers series. This is the story of the youngest MacKinnon, Connor and beautiful Sarah’s journey to find love through all the trials and tribulations that one would ever have to face in a life time. Together the pair overcome (takes deep breath) Indians, kidnappings, murder, nasty rumours, dipshit family members, fear, anger, betrayal and personal issues. This is just such a powerful and emotional story that touched your heart. Hands down, the best story in the series.

Now watch out people because I'm about to go all goo goo eyes on this book and praise it to high heavens!

First lets start with the sexy Scot on the cover. If this is Connor, then let me jump on board – be the damsel in distress because this man is built! In fact the cover just skim the surface of this book and its all out perfectness. Pamela’s writing was funny, irresistible, smooth, pulled at your heart strings, romantic and just me writing all these adjectives makes me think I'm depriving you from starting to read this book and seeing for yourself the awesomeness’ that is Pamela Clare! I haven’t read a book as fast as I read Defiant in a good 6 months. This was the first book I haven’t been able to put down and it was so hard to stop turning page after page after....

The interaction with the Connor and Sarah was perfectly fit for the genre and heart fluttery romantic at times but underneath all that was the constant seriousness of what was going on around them. Pamela Clare was able to maintain the perfect amount of distress, anger and romance throughout the whole story tying in perfectly with Sarah and Connors personal demons that both had to face. I would have given anything at numerous times throughout the book to jump right in and be the one to save Connor from another whipping or save Sarah from being locked in her uncle’s room for one more day. But no matter what, both characters were perfect and I would not change anything about them in any way.

These three MacKinnon brother are hard not to love. They are loyal to boot. Their passion and family roots run deep in their blood and have an honor that always seeing them do the right thing – even if I feel like telling them to stick their obligations. They love their women with a fierceness that isn’t seen in this day and age and if I could imagine up just a smidgen of these men in to reality then Zac Efron would be out on his arse in no time.

I love alot of the quotes from the book:

“Dinnae be laughin’ at me. They went for my cods, so they did! I had to thrust them away, else they’d have plucked me bare there, too. I willna submit my bollocks to such abuse.”

Joseph bit his lip, clearly trying to rein in his mirth. “So you prefer to make women search the bush to find the snake?”

“My snake is no’ so small that the lasses must search for it.”

Finally in summary, in my opinion Pamela Clare is an author to envy. She seems to have stayed true to roots and not fallen trap to the recent blood bath the authors are getting involved in. This in itself makes Pamela one of the only authors I respect enough to continue reading her books. She takes pride in her work and her home life and family. A truly wonderful woman, mother and author.
