Dare you to by Katie McGarry

17372887Ryan lowers his lips to my ear. "Dance with me, Beth."

"No." I whisper the reply. I hate him and I hate myself for wanting him to touch me again....

"I dare you..."

If anyone knew the truth about Beth Risk's home life, they'd send her mother to jail and seventeen-year-old Beth who knows where. So she protects her mom at all costs. Until the day her uncle swoops in and forces Beth to choose between her mom's freedom and her own happiness. That's how Beth finds herself living with an aunt who doesn't want her and going to a school that doesn't understand her. At all. Except for the one guy who shouldn't get her, but does....

Ryan Stone is the town golden boy, a popular baseball star jock-with secrets he can't tell anyone. Not even the friends he shares everything with, including the constant dares to do crazy things. The craziest? Asking out the Skater girl who couldn't be less interested in him.

But what begins as a dare becomes an intense attraction neither Ryan nor Beth expected. Suddenly, the boy with the flawless image risks his dreams-and his life-for the girl he loves, and the girl who won't let anyone get too close is daring herself to want it all....

"Screw Perfect" -Ryan

In Ryan and Beths' world, there's no such thing as perfect.  It takes striving to want to be better, and do their damnest  to have hope, to be  strong, and get through the rough patches in their lives, to actually move forward. Their story gives a whole new meaning to an  "eye opener".  They  complete one another, when one is in doubt about their life, the other is always there as a "pick me upper".

Beth is a striking character with a spunky attitude that I normally love in a heroine. But this time she just goes far and beyond. I have my patience to tolerate a character to a certain extent. Her "cry me a river" about her mom just drove me insane. I guess I could understand her side, but talk about apeshit annoying. Other than dealing with her chaotic life, meeting Ryan changes her world for he better. But will she be willing to trust and let someone else love and protect her for a change? That's a question I thought would never get answered.....

Now *ahem* let me jot a few thoughts down about Ryan.......

Oh wait  *my fingers are glued together*  I couldn't have asked for a better Hero!!! He may be a jock. But he isn't an asshole. His honesty and gentlemanly ways have wooed me!  He is sweet, lovable, kind and everything in between. He's the kind of guy that obviously loves bad girls. He just needed to find the right one. And Beth is definitely the skater-type girl with the potty mouth and jacked up attitude, that is all he needed to see the world differently. Who knew the person who everyone thought had a perfect set life, could end up with a screwed up family.

All in all,I enjoyed the story. It's nice to pickup a book every once and a while from an author whom I know what to expect and not be let down :)

Fallen too Far by Abbi Glines

Fallen Too Far (Fallen Too Far, #1)
To want what you’re not supposed to have…

She is only nineteen.

She is his new stepfather’s daughter.

She is still naïve and innocent due to spending the last three years taking care of her sick mother.

But for twenty-four year old Rush Finlay, she is the only thing that has ever been off limits. His famous father’s guilt money, his mother’s desperation to win his love, and his charm are the three reasons he has never been told no.

Blaire Wynn left her small farmhouse in Alabama, after her mother passed away, to move in with her father and his new wife in their sprawling beach house along the Florida gulf coast. She isn’t prepared for the lifestyle change and she knows she’ll never fit into this world. Then there is her sexy stepbrother who her father leaves her with for the summer while he runs off to Paris with his wife. Rush is as spoiled as he is gorgeous. He is also getting under her skin. She knows he is anything but good for her and that he’ll never be faithful to anyone. He is jaded and has secrets Blaire knows she may never
uncover but Reven knowing all of that…
Blaire just may have fallen too far.

Elena & Rhonda Review!:

RhondaElena R a.k.a. Lunies R

Rhonda- Elena read Fallen Too Far before I did.  She called me as soon as she was finished with it to vent about it. Well, I suppose she could only say so much since I haven't read the book, but the way she talked about it I knew I had to dive into this one!  I have only read YA by Abbi Glines, so I wasn't quite sure what exactly to expect. OMG! This book was so good! I was quickly wrapped up in the story and the characters. Abbi Glines completely exceeded my expectations.

Elena- I'm so glad my recommendation wasn't an epic fail Rhonda. Lolz! Now that I know Rhonda loved it, just as much as I did. Then I can explode and recommend this novel to everyone who loves their contemporary romance with a hint of raw and heartfelt emotional  romance!

Rhonda- Epic Fail??  Never!!  Elena you are exactly right, raw and heartfelt, emotional romance indeed!! I couldn't put this book down once I started, Abbi Glines made me blush and swoon over her hero Rush!! I think I might have swooned a little over Blaire too. LOL!

Elena- The characters are more then just likable, they're lovable. It's hard to choose who I love more; the Hero, Rush.Or the Heroine, Blaire? I can't choose, I have a strong love spot in my heart for bad boys and strong bada** heroines who have courage, strength and takes the hard times make them into good times, then squash them all together, you got yourself a whirlwind of secrets, betrayals, love, loyalty, friendships, daddy issues, loss of a loved one, then there's dealing with incompetent people, and still manage to stay strong. I'm crossing my fingers the next book will stitch my heart back together, this book left me breathless and my heart torn into pieces.

So bottom like is this: If you like your Contemporary Romance with a good story line and a lot of steam, then this book is for you!!

Sugar Creek - Toni Blake

Welcome to Destiny, Ohio—where two families have been at odds as long as anyone in town can remember. Rachel Farris returned to her childhood home with one mission in mind: get Mike Romo out of her family's apple orchard business and out of their lives. But hard-nosed and totally hot Mike, who happens to be the law in Destiny, is convinced the Farris clan stole the land from his family fifty years ago and he's not backing down. Even when shapely trouble shows up in a pair of designer blue jeans. However, neither the hunky cop nor the sexy prodigal hometown girl can anticipate the electricity that heats things up whenever they're together—adding new sizzle to an ongoing feud that's raged for generations, and soon putting both their hearts at risk.

Best Book In This Series! Whoo Hoo!

It's a love/hate relationship between Rachel Farris and Mike Romo.

I loved the Hot Bad Boy Snooty Cop from the previous book One Reckless Summer but Mike was just sooooo much hotter arrogant and everything nice in this book...I LOVED! I LOVED IT,I LOVED IT! Lolz!

As for Rachel,I Loved her just the same. Her attitude, bad behavior and smart potty mouth kept me on my toes.A woman that's not afraid to back mouth a cop and tells it like it is. That's my kinda Heroine!

Oh! Let me not forget Edna,Rachel's grandmother;another character in this novel that I loved! She is funny, intelligent and all full of secrets!

Well for starters here's just a small glimpse of what the books is about. Edna Rachel's grandmother calls and asks her for a favor to help harvest apples from her Apple Orchid business for their fall festival. In which that business is what started a family feud between Rachel & Mike's family "The Ferris & Romo's" for over 50 years. Looks Like Grandma Edna Ferris & Giovanni Romo (Mike's grandfather) were hot for one another back in the days. Until Giovanni decides to be the bad boy that he is & Edna acts out and takes back the farm that Giovanni had given to her as a promise to her that he would come back and marry her. That's where all the drama and family feud begins.Nothing ever turns out the way we expect it to be. I didn't feel bad for Giovanni at all,he deserved being treated that way after the things he did.

Anywhoo....Back on topic here.....Mike and Rachel obviously have an attraction between one another. Really to the point where I can feel the hot steamy tension between the two.Goodness! The whole family feud scenerio doesn't help neither, their bickering, and teasing clashed the entire time in this novel. So I was so surprised when they warm up to each other and talk about their pasts and present fears/problems. I would never have thought these too could actually get a long and fall in love. I guess anythings possible.

I really loved this novel & hope to enjoy the next book the same, although I don't think anyone can fight off my attraction and liking for Mike,He's just that HOT and undeniably attractive!

My Thanks and Review goes to Miss Kim She rec'd an incredible series which I loved! I can't believe it took me so long to finish up this series, but it was so worth it! Thanks Kim! XOXO's

Love,
Chichi's Girl! *winks* LOL!
