I need to start by saying what a huge fan of the Masters of the Shadowlands series I am!! I think I kinda forget how much I love everything about these books and characters until I dive back into their stories. 

I have been anxiously awaiting Master Sam's story for quite some time now. For a few reasons really. One is that, unlike some BDSM books, there is a lot going on in the background of these books. In the last installment we saw some of the key players at Shadowlands involved in taking down a part of a human trafficking ring. Linda, who is our heroine, was held as a slave and rescued and she is having a hard time dealing with Sam since he had to play a rather hard part in the rescue operation. Now I realize this all may sound a little vague if you have not read any of these books - and if you are a BDSM fan of any kind then I have to ask, why the hell have you not read these books?? 

Anyway, another reason I have been looking forward to Sam is because not only is he an older man, and Linda an older woman, and by this I mean old enough that they have grown children. But that Sam is a Sadist! For you newbies that means he enjoys inflicting pain and Linda is a Masochist, which means she enjoys receiving pain (even if it takes her awhile to admit this, seeing as she wants to be normal and all)!! Sam is the one man who can give her what she needs and make her feel safe, if only she'd let him.

This book was a beautifully emotional read. Watching Linda try to resume her life with the whole world knowing was held as a sex slave. Let me tell you, I really wanted to jump into this book and bitch slap the fuck out of some of these ignorant, narrow minded assholes that think she deserved that because of her penchant for pain and kink!! FUCK THEM I SAY!! We all have kink, even if we are too closed minded to admit it!! OK, sorry, minor rant!! Y'all that know me know that those slip into my reviews sometimes!! :)

Like I said before, if you are a BDSM fan at all and haven't read this series - get your ass out there and get them! Cherise Sinclair rocks my socks!!

I've often heard that Cherise Sinclair is a Master at writing BDSM stories, so when Master of the Mountain came up as a book club selection, I jumped at the chance to read something from this new-to-me author.

Rebecca and Matt might be compatible intellectually, but physically they are not. We learn this right away when Matt reveals to Rebecca that he has been a part of a swingers group. He asks Rebecca to join him in the next get-together. Rebecca reluctantly agrees to go, but quickly finds out that swinging is not her cup of tea. The first night there, she is kicked out of her cabin and ends up sleeping on the porch of the mountain lodge. Logan, who owns the lodge with his brother Jake, finds her freezing and takes her to his bedroom to warm her up.

First, I should mention that Matt is a huge jerk! Rebecca is smart and seems put-together on the outside. Even though the other members of the swinging group show interest and want her to join them in their activities, Rebecca is so insecure of her full-figured, scarred body. She immediately compares herself to the other skinny women in the group. Why would anyone want to be with her? Well, Logan certainly loves his women soft and curvy! It's a huge plus that he sees submissive qualities in Rebecca, and begins to train her right away.

Logan...WOW! As a Dom, he certainly knows what he wants and how to give...and give, and give, and give! There is one outdoor scene that had Rebecca tied up and screaming at the top of the otherwise quiet mountain! Boy, did his training leave her very satisfied and overwhelmed at the same time. Logan has issues as well. As a war veteran, he is plagued with nightmares. He wants more than a long weekend with Rebecca, but he doesn't trust himself to not hurt her.

I really enjoyed Rebecca and Logan's story. They were characters with realistic issues. I also liked how the author gave Rebecca her moment to think things through. I mean, here's a woman who goes to a swinging party only to be thrust into the BDSM lifestyle. I love how Rebecca handles everything at the end. Will I read the next book? Heck, yeah! There was just enough of Jake's back story to entice me to read on! Highly enjoyable and highly erotic with intense emotion, I recommend Master of the Mountain to any BDSM fan.

What an adorable story!

Actually it started off as a-okay. The Heroine happens to fall for a guy who is a gentleman (in her eyes, not mine) who can give her a life of happiness, except Matt is a terrible bed lover. Matt makes a suggestion to explore their sexual side in their relationship, and asks if she'd join him on a Swinger's retreat. This is the first time Rebecca has ever heard of him going to such a place, in which couples, men and woman show up just to have sex with one another. In my opinion, I would've slapped the guy upside his head for suggesting it, no man is worth stooping down to his perverted level. But she agrees, and the better for her... * smirks*


When Rebecca puts her two senses together, she realizes it was a huge mistake, and watching Matt screw around in front her eyes is just not her style.

Rebecca meets the hot stud Logan, who owns the cabins up in the mountains where all the Swinger's meet up for their retreat. He's obviously not part of the Swinger's group, but knows all about these horny people who get a kick outta screwing with everyone. But don't let Logan fool you, he has a bad boy fetish kink, in which he has the googly eyes for Rebecca and her famous round ass. He teaches her everything about herself sexually, that she had no idea existed. "BDSM" ooooooh Logan! Spank Me Baby! Hehe!!!! Watching Logan taking it nice and slow with Rebecca then giving it to her full force, showed his soft lovable side and his tough and rough exterior of a Dom. Omg!! His stare, is a melt in your panties kinda swooning. Loved it!

The story was adorable yet hot and sweaty. My palms are still sweaty. Hehe!!

This is the first time I've read a Cherise Sinclair novel, I'm now considering picking up a few of her other books and see if I get the same results.....

BTW! A friend had mentioned in her review about this book, a scene with Logan and Rebecca up in the mountains doing the dirty and how hot it was, I gotta say, she wasn't lying,it was one of the hottest scenes in the book. The screams from up in top of the mountains were heard by many people. Kinky little things!
