Sam's Review:

I love Vlad. I thought I better start with that statement, because I think I have liked him better than Bones *ducks head* for a very long time. I was ecstatic when I found out not only would he have his own book but his own series, well I nearly blew my lid! 

 Getting my hands on this book, was like forgetting about carbs for a day and eating anything I wanted - pure ecstasy!

 So did this book live up to the imaginary hype I had built it up to be in my head? Yes, in some aspects it so very much did. In other aspects, no. Sadly it wasn't until around the 30% mark that I fell into that realm of nothing else existing except reading the book.

 Vlads character from Night Huntress was in my opinion, dark but sarcastic with a wicked humor. But what we see in his own book is what the man is like behind the scenes. He has a lot of a deeper past that what has been initially let on, and I loved being able to delve into that area of him. Thankfully he was still able to make his wickedly, suggestive, sarcastic remarks that I so loved about him in the first place. And thank fully, no premature inflammation in this story :)

Our heroine, Leila was electrocuted as a child that left a scar from her right eye brow to her right wrist, leaving her with the unusual ability to produce an electric current from her right arm into anything she touches. And also has the ability to see people's past, present and future with the touch of her left hand. I loved that this power seemed like a new concept to me. Leila was certainly a tough cookie. She wouldn't stand down to nothing, and was never afraid to stand up to Vlad when he was in one of his moods.

 As above said,I loved Leila powers and could understand the whole current running through her from being struck by a power line - totally passable. But what I couldn't work out is how being struck by a power line also gave her the telepathic abilities. It was an awesome added touch, but wasn't explained how she came by this talent. 

The chemistry being the two was ....um...well I wouldn't say off the charts,but it was hot. They both new they wanted each other, and Vlad had a lot of cockiness about his confidence of her falling for him. There is one chapter that defiantly made me hot under the collar, but sadly that was the basic only scene where our two hero and heroine get down and funky. 

The ending was ... My gawd....I was left with my mouth hanging wide open!, What a cliff hanger and a way to set up the next book in the series that we now have to wait a year for! But I will say that I think Cat and Bones have a new rival in the awesome couple of the year award!

One Grave at a Time was everything I expected to be, but nothing I wanted it to be. How to explain? I missed Cat and Bones in between every book. It’s a god given fact that these two rule my life.  I enjoyed the last book but with each progressive book feel like Cat and Bones are falling into the trap of an ‘Old Married Couple’.  In this book Cat and Bones are back and are trying to kill a ghost. So how do you kill a guy that’s already dead though?

Cat and Bones relationship is still going stronger than ever. But if you’re after romance in this round, you will be surly disappointed. There is one very peculiar ‘love scene’ that I’m not even going to go into because in my eyes it’s just physically impossible. There is a few romantic moments between the two, with some heartfelt exchanging words and passionate looks but that tops it off.  But not having too much romance doesn’t take away the very fast paced story that managed to keep me enthralled enough to have me eager to turn the pages to see how in fact you kill  a dead guy.

We didn’t get to see any, Vlad this time round *cue sighs of disappointment*. BUT we see plenty of Ian. I didn’t really have any affection at all for him in the past books. But with Vlad out of the picture for the mean time, Ian has stepped right up to the plate.  He reminds me of the smart mouth side kick that everyone needs.  I can’t wait for him to get his own book. I couldn’t help but smile with almost all of his witty lines.

So how do you kill a dead guy? I don’t know. And that brings me to the book that was good, that got great, which ended with me thinking ....ummmm WTH? It ended way too abruptly. I was well into it, turned the page and it was over.  I’m still baffled. It was almost like Frost had a limit of pages she could write, got to that point and just ended it.  So was this the best book in the series? Not by a long shot. But this series in generally is fantastic and I still would recommend it to anyone.
