S.E.R's Awesomness would like to invite everyone who loves this series to join in with us today to show your LOVE and support for E.L. James!  Just tell us your story and how you came across the series  and spruce up your comments with anything else you'd like to say.  Keep reading, there will be a giveaway involved too!

Here are our congrats to E.L James from all of us ladies at S,E,R's Awesomness!

Rhonda- Wow!
It's hard to believe it's already been a year since E.L. James unleashed Fifty Shades of Grey on the world.  Even though I wasn't a reader of the fan fiction, I am proud to say I was among the first few thousand to read the published version. ;)  Mrs. James Thank you for bringing Christian Grey into the world of FICTION, I have enjoyed him immensely, not only the KINKY FUCKERY, but his story, from the heartbreaking to the love he found in Anastasia, as well as their journey.  Congratulations on all of your success with this series! *blows kisses*

Grace- Cheers!

As a reader of fan fiction, I remember dropping everything just to read the latest update from Icy.  I also remember when she announced that she had this huge opportunity to publish her story.  Happy Anniversary to Fifty Shades of Grey! It's so much fun watching the world discover Christian and Ana's incredible story.  Congratulations, E.L. James!

Elena-Best Wishes!
The "Fifty Shades Trilogy" was above and beyond amazing! I can't believe just a year ago this novel was recommended to me and I have yet to fall out of love with this series, including the characters. EL James did a remarkable job putting together a great story line that's truly unforgettable. My best wishes goes out to her and her future success. Good Luck and wish her all the best!

Sam-Wow!
I cant believe its been a year since Christian Grey came in to my life *sniffs*. Its amazing how time flies. I remember when a friend said to me ‘You have to read this book, its amazing’ – I honestly had nothing else to read at the time so delved into it and OMG! Christian Grey and Anastasia just dug thier way so far and so fast into my heart that I haven't been the same since.  This is a trilogy that dumbfounds you. Its a series that I still cant put into words how much  I love it. People have their opinions, and I too have mine and mine is that these books are beyond the realms of awesomeness. Ms James is a true talent, and one that is more down to earth and so deserving of her fame that has come from this series. I will be that first screaming fan girl, if the books ever make it to that big screen. I actually just the past weekend, sent a copy of all three books to my brother to read, so its refreshing to know that even men are getting in on the Fifty Shades hype. I bow down to Ms James, and her ability to handle not only the hype but the drama that has attached itself to this series. Not many are as level headed as her self – must be were Christian gets it from! LOL. CONGRATULATIONS Ms James, Christian and Anastasia for coming this far – you eternally have my support and NO#1 FAN GIRL STATUS!

Ren-Congrats!
I haven't read "Fifty Shades of Grey" yet. But I've heard all the hype, many gushing about it and raving reviews. The ladies here at S,E,R's Awesomness Loved it! I Will read it someday. I'm  proud of Ms James with her Fifty series, she's made quite the impression with her romance novels (and erotica) and has been noticed by many people! Forget the young adult novel era, now its time for romance novels to conquest the book world! Okay, I'm halucinating.
So, congrats for the first anniversary of Fifty Shades series. I hope Ms James will become more famous and will write many great books that'll make her readers love to read it, like they enjoyed reading Fifty :)

Well we're not quite finished. If you'd like to hang out and read a few reviews, keep going. There will be a giveaway at the end of the post.

Mrs. James
I have finished your novel, and while I’m aware that it was derived from fan fiction, I was a bit apprehensive about reading. It seems that all the shining reviews made me very curious, so I had to go with my gut and take the plunge. While I have read the books that this series was spawn from and loved them very much at the time, I have since moved on, as hand holding and kissing were just not enough… I wanted more. There were scenes, and lines from your book that made me think of that series, maybe it was because I knew ahead of time.

I don’t read much erotica because frankly, the story lines tend to be cheesy, and characters jump in the sack by page 2. Mrs. James, I really enjoyed this book, from the story, to the erotica. Which is possibly one of the best erotica books I have ever read. I heard Christian’s voice from the moment he put his hand in Ana’s and helped her to her feet after falling into his office. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I loved him. Throughout the book I kept thinking, “where do I sign?” ;-) I found that I liked Ana very much, I liked how she challenged Christian, and I enjoyed her inner dialog, her inner goddess had me cracking up. I liked how Christian tried to ease her into his world of BDSM, the little things that led up to the first encounter in the playroom. Christian was delicious, and I savored him thoroughly!

I’m glad I never read the fan fiction version of this story, because quite frankly, I don’t think I would have enjoyed it as much as I did Christian and Anastasia. Am I curious about it? Absolutely NOT! I love Fifty Shades of Grey just the way it is. I can't remember the last time I smiled this much while reading a book. Mrs. James, you have completely captivated me with this book, and I can’t wait to start the next one.

Grace's Review:
This is the second time I am reading this series. I read the fanfic version a while ago. I was a huge fan of the story then. You guys should all be so lucky to have the published version available now as it was a PITA to wait for chapter updates!

E.L. James, I am still enjoying reading this story the second time around. It did take a while for me to get used to the names and the slight changes, but the overall heart of the your story is still present. I found myself being engrossed again in the lives of Christian and Ana. The first time I read your story I was as clueless as Ana when it came to the world Christian tries to introduce to her. Vanilla sex...what's that? I had the same reaction as Ana, LOL! Reading the contract Christian presents to Ana this time around, I am not as overwhelmed, but that's OK because I know where this story is heading. I have more knowledge of all the toys Christian wants to play with and use on Ana!

But really, I think what I love about Fifty Shades of Grey is the budding romance that develops outside the D/s relationship. Both Christian and Ana are not perfect, but they are willing to try in order to be together. The emails they send to one another are playful, honest and fun to read! I know book 1 ends in a huge cliffhanger, but keep reading! E.L. James will take you on a suspenseful and emotional roller coaster that will leave you ultimately satisfied at the end of the trilogy

Holly's Review

Let me start by saying.... Wow! Just Wow!!

This book is 5+ stars for me!! It is my favorite kind of story. You know what I mean...just so intense that the characters get so far under your skin that you can't stand to be away from them for any length of time? Well, that was me while reading this book, I couldn't concentrate to get anything done :)

There are a lot of reviews on this book, and obviously the majority love it, so I am simply going to explain some of the reasons that this story grabbed hold of my heart and wouldn't let go.

First, I am a total sucker for the tortured hero and you would be hard pressed to find a hero more tortured that our own beloved Christian Grey. That said, the fact that he is a gazillionaire at age 27 is nothing to shake a stick at! Christian's intensity and focus is what really captured me in all this, I keep having to remind myself how old he is. The chemistry between Anastasia & Christian is just off the friggin' charts, I swear at times I could feel it coming right off the pages, from the moment she 'fell' into his office!! :)

I really enjoyed the BDSM element, it wasn't necessarily heavy but intense, especially listening to Christian tell Ana that he WANTED to hurt her and why. When he said he had never had to explain it before and knew he wasn't explaining well just melted my heart. There is such a vulnerable, sweet boy underneath that gorgeous domineering man!

Obviously you can tell I am completely smitten with Christian, but let me tell you a little bit about why I completely love Ana too. Even though she is an innocent, oh and I mean really innocent, I can't help but love her fire! Yes, just like the rest of the female population she has fallen completely under Christian's spell but she is not willing to just submit to his every whim - She's feisty but conflicted, I love the emotion!!

Now, I could wax poetic about this book all day long but I will instead say if you haven't read this and you enjoy a read that will stay with you for days after you finish it then I cannot recommend this enough!! GO GET IT - RIGHT NOW!!! That's right, shouty capitals!! LOL - I myself finished this one and jumped right into Fifty Shades Darker because like I said, I can't get enough!! Soooo..... Laters baby!

"Small Press Treasures" Blog Hop

Over the course of the past year, the ladies here at S,E,R’s have had the pleasure of reading some really awesome books by some super fabulous authors. And to our surprise,a lot of these books came from Small press and independent authors.Well it comes as no surprise to us now that an incredible book can be found beyond the major publishers. So  for the next week we are very excited to put the spotlight on these authors who have commanded our attention, made us take notice, and turned us into a bunch of squealing  fan girls awaiting their next book! (These authors are mentioned in no particular order)

The path that was laid out before us started with a Sassy, snarky empath named Piper Anast. Rachel Firasek took us on her journey with Piper and her unique crime fighting skills along with the sexy Slade, and left us clamoring for the next book.  Firasek also introduced us to her creative Curse of the Phoenix series and gave us a  new world, and characters to love.
As our journey into the unknown continued we discovered  Mrs. E.L. James who brought us the lusty, naughty love story between Ana Steele, Christian Grey and his “fifty shades of fucked up“.  Fifty ruled our thoughts to the point it was hard to wrap our minds around the next books on our TBR.
Mrs. Carolyn Crane….. How fantastic is this author who took us into an awesome Urban Fantasy world and gave us a unique story with Justine Jones a hypochondriac who learns to use her hypochondria to work for her instead of against her, with the help of the sexy Packard.  Crane gives us a colorful cast of characters to love, and the wait for Head Rush was exhausting, but well worth it!
Along the way, we happened to come across a  book by Debra Anastasia called Poughkeepsie.WOW!! We could go on for days about this fabulous lady who tells us a heartwarming story of love, courage, heartbreak, loyalty, and self discovery where a young lady falls in love with a homeless man. Mrs. Anastasia’s story is full of some of the funniest most amazing characters, it has left us in dire need of the next story, as well as made our top favorite shelf! She also tells us a story in Crushed Seraphim where good and evil collide and find a love worth sacrificing for, and the devil has never been so sexy!!
J.M. Darhower….. “Sempre”!  This book was an amazing, crazy terrific ride! Darhower took a cause she believes in and centered her story around it, incorporated the Italian Mafia, and the outcome was  SIMPLY FANTASTIC! With a cast of characters that will steal your heart and leave you wanting more, Darhower landed on the top shelf too!
J.A. Saare swept us off to New York with the awesome, outspoken necromancer Rhiannon Murphy, and the super sexy vampire Disco in her PNR novel, Dead Undead and Somewhere in Between.  After leaving us out on that cliff, we were chomping at the bit for the next book. Saare delivered a wild crazy ride with The Renfield Syndrome that did not disappoint!  After throwing us 100 years in to the future and  hanging us out on that cliff again, we are super excited that the next book will be coming soon.
Diving into the world of BDSM Novels,  we found Kallypso Masters new “Rescue Me” series, to be all kinds of toe curling yummy. Love her writing style, which is simply beautiful, and thus makes her one of our most anticipated authors. We love Kally, and can’t wait for the upcoming releases!
To our Surprise, author C.J. Roberts took us to a dark place in Captive in the Dark, her debut full length novel where Livvy is abducted to be used as a pawn in Gabe’s quest for vengeance.  Roberts is an author to watch,  this lady can seriously write! Her sequel Seduced in the Dark, lands on our most anticipated list for 2012.
Laura Hunsaker took us on a time travel adventure with super sexy highlander in Highland Destiny. This was a fast paced, hard to put down novel.  If you enjoy time travel, and historical fiction, you’ll enjoy this one!
Some of our other favorite authors who have brought Greek mythology to the table, and a little PNR is Laura Kaye, her new series Hearts of the Anemoi introduced us to a new series featuring a different tale of Greek Mythology, and Owen Winters will certainly make you lick your lips, and ask for more.Another great author that brings the Greek mythology to the table is Lisa Beth Darling, and her “Of War” series. Darling’s stories are dark, mysterious, and challenging. She will keep you turning the pages, and the stories will stay with you for quite some time. Next, Rosalie Lario, her stories are full of twists and turns, and lots of demonic fun!

Fifty Shades Freed Tour

Welcome  E L James and her  Blog Tour for "Fifty Shades Freed" It's been a few months since we've all have been longing for this novel and now that it's finally here,we're all trying our hardest to compose ourselves, there's so much fan-girl squealing going around. (Not that Christian Grey would approve. LOL!!) We can't help it. E L James has written a phenomenal breathtaking trilogy. We don't know anyone who could pull off her characters as flawlessy as she's done. In honor of her Trilogy we welcome EL James to our blog with open arms, and we want to thank her for taking the time and stopping by to give us a small glimpse about her real world and her her insights on the beautiful mastermind of her characters.

EL James:

As anyone who knows me, knows I am not a blogger. The thought of writing a guest post always fills me with dread. What could I possibly write about that people want to hear about? And then I thought, everyone wants to know about Christian, hero of the Fifty Shades trilogy.

Ah – Christian, Christian, Christian. He’s my fantasy man. What can I say? He’s hot, controlling, disgustingly wealthy, smart, competent in so many areas, and knows exactly what to do in bed, but he is deeply, deeply broken and in need of some serious TLC. Who doesn’t like to think that their love could heal someone?

I was honored to attend a private book launch party in New York for Fifty Shades Freed, organized at practically a moments notice by the very lovely Lyss Stern of Divamoms. Lyss pulled off a fabulous event and I thank her and all those involved from the bottom of my heart. During the Q & A someone asked me if I intentionally made Christian really creepy during the first part of the first book, Fifty Shades of Grey. I was a little thrown by the question, because Christian is not creepy to me. When I set out to write the story, I was the only one who knew how broken this seemingly successful man is and why he acts the way he does. For me a hot alpha-hero with a tortured past is a far more entertaining read than someone who is level headed and understands their own actions. Poor Christian is completely thrown by his reaction to Ana – he falls very hard for her – but doesn’t understand his feelings at all… and he tries to address them in the only way he knows how. He’s an emotional virgin, whereas Ana is a sexual virgin. Together they embark on both an emotional and sexual journey, learning a great deal about each other and how to handle each other along the way.

We see all this from Ana’s POV. If I’d written it from Christian’s POV, the game would have been up very early. I think the appeal of the books is that via Ana we slowly unwrap the enigma that is Christian Grey (well, that’s what I was hoping for – it’s up to you whether I achieve that or not). In Fifty Shades Freed we see the conclusion of their journey, and finally get to understand the root of Christian’s fifty shades.

It’s only Ana’s unconditional love that brings him to that point. If he’d never met her he’d probably have continued his life as he had before, but been appallingly lonely, and unaware that he was -- bless his Ralph Lauren cotton socks.

So in a nutshell, that’s what this series is about: unconditional love. In my humble opinion all children are entitled to it, and those who don’t get it during their formative years will carry that baggage with them for the rest of their lives. And if they are unfortunate enough to be born into an abusive, neglectful family situation… well, I think parents who abuse their children deserve to be cast into the darkest pit of hell.

So, on that cheery note… maybe I should stick to writing fiction.

Well there you have it, EL James rocks! Who agrees? We do! hehehe...No need to dread, the post was filled with love for your characters. Loved it!

Fifty Shades Freed (#3) EL James

Synopsis:When unworldly student Ana Steele first encountered the driven, damaged young entrepreneur Christian Grey it sparked a sensual affair that changed both their lives irrevocably. Shocked, intrigued, and ultimately repelled by Christian’s singular sexual tastes, Ana demanded a deeper commitment; determined to keep her, Christian agreed.

Now, together, they have more – love, passion, intimacy, and a world of infinite possibilities. But Ana always knew that loving her Fifty Shades would not be easy, and being together poses challenges neither of them ever anticipated. Ana must somehow learn to share Christian’s opulent lifestyle without sacrificing her own integrity, identity or independence; Christian must somehow overcome his compulsion to control, and lay to rest the horrors that blighted his past and haunt his present.

Just when it seems that together their love can conquer any obstacle, misfortune, malice and fate combine to make Ana’s worst nightmares come true. Alone and desperate, she must face down the poisoned legacy of Christian’s past.

Seductive, shocking, sad and funny, Fifty Shades Freed is the compelling final volume in the Fifty Shades trilogy.

Holly's Thoughts:

  TEN GREAT BIG SHINY STARS!!!!!

This was a perfect ending to what has definitely become my favorite series! I was wonderful to read the conclusion of this wonderful story that is Ana and her Fifty Shades. I couldn’t love Christian any more if I tried, and I big enough to admit that I am just glowing green with envy of Ana :) - For the most part this book was not as intense all the time as the other two but what was most wonderful, after watching these two overcome some pretty major obstacles to be together, was getting to watch them learn to be husband and wife and function is the real world together.

I am not going to get into very much detail, one, because I could simply go on forever and ever talking about Fifty and how much I love him and two, because I really don’t want to give anything away. These are definitely books that should be savored slowly without any hints!

I will say though, that as fairy tale as their story is they definitely have to work through some major issues that are arising simply because they had an obsessive, whirlwind romance that now is taking some real work in the light of day, so to speak. While Christian is just as mercurial as ever, at times I did feel for Ana in this one. Christian can be a bit, well, overwhelming, which we all know and love him for, but Ana struggles at times with this. As I can imagine I would too, but the fact that they love and need each other more than their next breath helps them conquer all of these hurdles. Sometimes with a little punishment involved, :) which doesn’t seem to have any of the parties involved complaining.

My favorite quote… Christian grins. “Am I that much of a prize?”
”Christian, you are the state lottery, the cure for cancer, and the three wishes from Aladdin’s lamp all rolled into one.”
I couldn’t have said it better myself!!

The way that I fell in love with these characters shocked even me, to the point that they were so far in my head that I would dream about them at night when I finally put my book down! I have to say Ms. James does a phenomenal job of making you FEEL the characters! I have to thank one more time my GR friends that first introduces me to this series, what an amazing emotional roller coaster ride!! I can’t wait to do it all again.

I also need to include some pics of my favorite different faces of Fifty…

So off I trotted to Amazon and bought myself a copy. What I didn’t know when I started reading this book, was just how much it would get to me. I was drawn into this book like a moth to a blow torch. But once I got my copy I once again blew thru the book and ever since then have been pimping this trilogy incessantly. Book one and two are easily the

Sams Reviews:

About the Author
E L James is a TV executive, wife and mother-of-two based in West London. Since early childhood she dreamed of writing stories that readers would fall in love with, but put those dreams on hold to focus on her family and her career. She finally plucked up the courage to put pen to paper with her first novel, Fifty Shades of Grey.
E L James is currently working on the sequels to Fifty Shades of Grey, and on a new romantic thriller with a supernatural twist.

Interview...

I first have to start by saying that you have officially stolen my heart. I said this in my review of Fifty Shades of Grey and I will say it again, I give my heart to one author a year that just blows me away and I had already given it to someone, but then I read your book and Im blown out of the water. You have amazed me in how much I was drawn to your book. Please tell me where your inspiration to write this amazing book came from?
Oh my – that’s such a lovely thing to hear – I am grinning like a loon; I am so glad you enjoyed the first book. I think the inspiration came from reading some BDSM stories – which talked about but never showed the paperwork. I wanted to see the paperwork because I am a paperwork sort of person –well, I used to be - so I knew that whatever I ended up writing I would do a BDSM contract. I also wanted to explore what would happen if you met someone who was in the lifestyle but you weren’t comfortable with it. It kind of went from there.

When I approached you about an interview saying I wanted to read and review your book, you replied saying that, its not everyone cup of tea. Where you relating to the BDSM aspect of this novel? And what made you decide to go down the path of BDSM? I for one am not usually a BDSM fan, but I think you have done it astoundingly. Even I wanted to jump into Christians play room and have a go. But only if it meant Christian was there as my personal tutor ;)
I don’t think it’s the BDSM per se. In fact I don’t think of it as a BDSM book at all – that’s just background really. I think people find Christian – and why he’s so controlling – very hard to understand. Most people get it, but some don’t – so I was referring to that.

Did you have to do much research for this book? Or is Wikipedia all we all ever need?
I did a great deal of research. Thank heavens I have older children – one of my fears is Social Services finding what’s on my laptop and my kids being taken into care. It wasn’t just the salacious aspects of the novel I had to research. I live in the UK and have never been to Seattle, but that’s the setting I’d decided on, so I had to do a great deal of research into the area -- Portland, Vancouver WA, the university there… Streetmap became my friend. I found the most expensive apartment I could find for sale – which was in Escala… and kind of went from there…

I freaking loved the back and forth emailing that both hero and heroine participate in during the novel. Its cute and romantic and made me giggle. Do you spend a lot of time on your computer doing things other than writing....am I right in the conclusion that youre a twitter fan?
I am a Twitter freak i.e. I’m hopelessly addicted. I really enjoy tweeting and have met the most extraordinary, talented, warm and funny people through this medium.

Im very excited to start reading Fifty Shades Darker which is released on the 15th September. Im scared that we will be left hanging like we were in Fifty Shades of Grey please tell me there is some sort of resolution? *biting fingernails*
I think so… I hope you enjoy it.

What are your plans after the Fifty Shades series is complete? Do you have another book in the works that you can tell us about?
I have quite a few ideas at the moment, so much so that it kind of freaks me out sometimes because I have to pick one to work on. I have virtual post-it notes on my computer and twelve story lines going at the moment. I’d like to finish an earlier novel I wrote which is a paranormal romance – but I’m working on a new erotic romance at the moment. I’d like to write a thriller too – but it’s just a question of finding the time.

QUICKY TIME:
· Where do you like to write?
 At my little cream-coloured desk.

Gosh thats a hard question mostly anywhere that does good food. I like French food.

Stubborn and never being able to say no. O.o

Fifty Shades Darker (Fifty Shades #2)

Fifty Shades Darker (Fifty Shades, #2)

Daunted by the singular sexual tastes and dark secrets of the beautiful, tormented young

entrepreneur Christian Grey, Anastasia Steele has broken off their relationship to start a new

career with a Seattle publishing house.

But desire for Christian still dominates her every waking thought, and when he proposes a new arrangement, Anastasia cannot resist. They rekindle their searing sensual affair, and Anastasia learns more about the harrowing past of her damaged, driven and demanding Fifty Shades.
While Christian wrestles with his inner demons, Anastasia must confront the anger and envy of the women who came before her, and make the most important decision of her life.

It had only been 24 hours in between book one and book two in the Fifty Shades of Grey series for me. But it was 24 hours to long.  I declared book one – BEST.BOOK.EVER. Hmmm, so it makes me wonder what I can award this book that will give it its due rewards. I’m thinking:
MOST.EPIC.BOOK OF 2011
Yes, that does have a nice ring to it doesn’t it?
We start  Fifty Shades Darker where we left off in the first book – with the massive cliff hanger! Ana is miserable and starting her new job. I didn’t know what to expect in reading this one and to be honest I was a little bit apprehensive about it. After book one rocked my world I was scared to be disappointed in this one.
One might think from the title, that we were going to be sucked deeper into the world that is BDSM and Christians Red Room of Pain. But the aptly titled –Fifty Shades Darker stems from the depths of Christians past and the obstacles that the two have to overcome together.
Ana’s character is very much the same as it was in book one. Very much an over thinker but still right up there with my top heroines of all time. Christian on the other hand does a total 180 flip. His character becomes a lot lighter and comical but we also see a very scared side of him. It was amazing reading into Christians past and fears of losing Ana. I would actually feel like I was in the room with them and intruding on their intimate moments. The characters have such deep feelings for one another; it could bring a woman to tears.
If that doesn’t describe how talented an author E.L James is, then I don’t know what does.
The entire book kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn’t wait to finish it, but when I did, I felt like I spoiled the book for myself. I wanted to go back and savour every second of it. James’s writing is so hypnotic. It draws you in and catches you completely. Its face paced, with never a dull moment, filled with suspense, hotter than Texas in July and just plain erotic.
At the end of this emotional rollercoaster, I’m ready to arrive at my platform and exit,  thoroughly pleased and coming down from a Grey high. But James does it again! She Cliff Hangers me! After stalker tweeting with James herself today, I was informed book 3 is to be a 2012 release * deep breaths* ... I endeavour to pick my heart up of the floor and await on bated breath until book 3 has a release date – hell, even a name will give me the tingles.
What more can I say? I’m in love. I love this series, I love this author. I love the writing style. And I love this book.
MOST.EPIC.BOOK OF 2011
