I'm a huge, huge fan of Kendall Grey's writing. Did you know her Just Breathe trilogy has a HOT rock star? I already knew she can write awesome rockers. When I heard she was writing a new series with rocker chicks and dudes, I literally bounced off the wall with much anticipation! 

“Strap-on? Check. Dildo? Check. Lube? Check.” 

Did that get your attention? Sure, Strings is erotica...raunchy and lewd erotica. The warning in the summary should be taken seriously. If explicitly erotic rock star stories is your thing, then you are in for a treat!

Meet 25 year-old Letty Dillinger. She's a force to be reckoned with. Letty represents all the poor unknowns trying to make it big in a cutthroat business. She believes wholeheartedly in her music and her band. I love her inner dialogue. The raw, roller-coaster of emotions she goes through really hits you in the guts. What I love most about her is that she's vulnerable, determined, and anyone can relate to her.

Should I mention that Letty also has a raging libido? Oh, yes, she does! When “Shades” enters the picture, she really has no problem asking for what she wants. Shades is such a willing participant, too. Shades, good God! Hello...rocker with tats and piercings alert! I'm trying to think of what they didn't do. Well, just know they're both willing and open. All the kink, and it gets pretty kinky, in their sexual activities is icing on the cake! The heat generated by these two is why this story comes with a warning. You have been warned!

Inhale hooks you in. Exhale makes you want more. Just Breathe leaves you absolutely breathless!

Kendall Grey completely rocks it providing her fans an exhilarating and stunning conclusion to the Just Breathe trilogy. If you've been following this series, then you know that there has been a build up of something huge happening. Well, what happens in Just Breathe is pretty darn EPIC!!!

There are several things going on as Zoe, Gavin, Jack, and his renegade Librus Group work together to save humanity from the Fyres. The door to The Dreaming must be found. A new Wӕter Archelemental arises. Gavin has to search for a traitor AND fend off Scarlet. Good lord! All the while, Zoe and Gavin sort out their feelings about the “incident” that happened and attempt to forge ahead with their relationship.

It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of this series. I was excitedly anticipating this book from the day I finished reading Inhale. I'm pretty sure the reason why is that Kendall Grey can tell a story like it's no one's business. Simply put, her writing is amazing! She writes vivid scenes and combine words that flow together like water. The characters that she writes have become real to me. Lily, the star humpback whale of the series has given me new appreciation for these mammals. Jack, Jet, Vexx and Byrn all enriched the storyline so perfectly with their colorful personalities and quirks. Vexx and Bryn are so cute and funny. Really, they are a delight to get to know. All along Sinnder has been seductive and quiet about his agenda, but not anymore! Then there is Scarlet. To say she is evil is putting it mildly. She is the antagonist that I love because she is so well written. She's getting desperate now, so she steps up her game by being more conniving, manipulative, and wicked than ever! Will someone put out the Fyre already, please!

Of course, I can't talk about Just Breathe without mentioning my favorite couple, Gavin and Zoe. Throughout the series we not only see them struggle and learn how to be together, but also as individuals the way they grow and draw strength from each other was so ethereal and beautiful to witness. Their love story is way more than that of a scientist and a rock star. It's the way they were written into an impossible corner where one has to wonder how the heck are they ever going overcome it all. Of the three books, Just Breathe is the one where Grey gave them their most intimate and special moments together, and...Holy-dooly, hot fudge sundae...were those moments steamy, tender and extremely playful!

For anyone interested in this series, please start at the beginning with Inhale. Then read all the Ephemera shorts, since they compliment these stories so well. Gavin and Zoe are snuggled up together on the couch in their living room, sipping coffee on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Zoe: I’ve seen you writing in that little notebook with the black cover and skulls. What’s in there?

Gavin: *A tinge of red creeps into his cheeks* Just stuff.

Zoe: Like song ideas?

Gavin: You could say that.

Zoe: What else?

Gavin: Things I want to remember.

Zoe: Like birthdays.

Gavin: Yeah.

Zoe: Anniversaries.

Gavin: Do we have an anniversary?

Zoe: I’m sure we do somewhere.

Gavin: First time we met in the Dreaming.

Zoe: I don’t think that counts.

Gavin: You know as well as I do that dream was real. It counts.

Zoe: Too true. Back to the notebook— *Her eyes widen, and she swats his arm* —Wait a minute. Is it a diary?

Gavin: *Huffs* No, it’s not a bloody diary.

Zoe: It is! I’ll bet I could sell it on Ebay for a lot of money. *Laughs*

Gavin: If you knew what was in it—never mind.

Zoe: *Arches a brow* See, now you got me really interested. Come on, just a peek? It’s not fair that you can tell what I’m thinking by looking at my aura, but I have no idea what goes on inside your head.

Gavin: I can’t read your mind. Emotional impressions only, and even that’s dodgy. Up to a lot of interpretation.

Zoe: You seem pretty skilled at it… *Hooks arms around Gavin’s shoulders and straddles him*

Gavin: *Grins* Lots of practice.

Zoe: What’s my aura saying now?

Gavin: It’s demanding I take you back to bed. It said if I don’t, severe bodily harm will be exacted upon my person in the form of blue balls and/or acute hypertension. This situation can only be remedied with hot, sweaty sex. An hour’s worth, minimum.

Zoe: That’s not what my aura said.

Gavin: No? Let me try again… *Cups her breasts* *Kisses her neck* Hmm…your Water is speaking to me. You want a tongue bath…from a tall, dark, and handsome musician…

Zoe: *Giggles* Actually, I’m kinda hungry. How about you take me out for pizza?

Gavin: *Frowns* You’re no fun at all.

Zoe: Tongue bath when we get home. Followed by hot, sweaty sex. And a reading from your diary.

Gavin: *Drops hands* *Groans*

Zoe: Go get dressed. *Shoves him off the couch, slaps his flannel-covered pajama ass, and grins* I’m starving.

When Gavin heads to the bedroom, Zoe pulls out his notebook from the side table drawer and thumbs through it.

“20 October: Showered Zed with rose petals in bed. Still remember the way she looked afterward—skin flushed and glistening, eyelids heavy, hair damp, body loose and sated…my beautiful rain storm.”

Zoe’s heart skips a beat as she remembers that night. She closes her eyes, inhales a deep breath, and clutches his notebook to her chest. Still Mr. Perfect. Feeling guilty, she slips the diary back into its hiding place.

Zoe: *Calls out* I changed my mind about the reading.

Gavin: *Enters living room, pulling shirt over rock-hard abs* You read my journal, didn’t you?

Zoe: *Blushes as she sidles up to him* Okay, maybe one entry. I’m sorry. Couldn’t resist.

Gavin: *Hugs her against his chest* I wrote it for you.

Zoe: *Pulls back* What?

Gavin: I was gonna give it to you when all the pages were full. *Grins* Anniversary present.

Zoe: *Shakes head and melts into a puddle* You’re such a romantic. Remind me again how I ended up with you?

Gavin: *Shrugs* You’re incredibly lucky.

Zoe: * Forgets about pizza, bites his lip ring, and drags him to the bedroom* *Mumbles breathlessly* So are you.

Gavin: That’s the bloody truth.

If you're a fan of the Just Breathe series, then this is a must read!

This is a really short novella. You may want to read Inhale (book #1 of the Just Breathe series) first to understand some of the terms and characterization. This novella is all in Sinnder's POV. He is a Fyre Elemental, and you get a better understanding what Elementals are in Inhale.

So, for those who have read Inhale, remember the scene at Shaggy's when the band is performing? Well, this novella takes you back to that evening, and we get to see all what Sinnder is thinking when he meets Zoe. He is a naughty one indeed! This is graphic, smutty ménage à trois (M-F-M)...Sinnder, Zoe, and Gavin! Need I say more? It is hotness to the tenth degree!

 Intensely Exhilarating!

When I finished Exhale, my mouth opened and, well, I actually exhaled! I'm pretty sure I held my breath during the last few pages! If you've read the first book, then you'll be glad to learn that Exhale starts where Inhale ended. Unlike the first book, more of the story takes place in Realis. Gavin is so smitten with Zoe, but she just can't fathom the idea of a rock star falling for her, a whale biologist! Surely, having a real-life relationship with Gavin would interfere with her research and distract her from pursuing her dream job. Good thing Gavin doesn't think so! We get to meet a few new characters, who add so much to the amazing storyline. The whales have a greater presence too. Yes, for those who are wondering, Lily is very much in Exhale, and she's woven so well into the story.

Scarlet returns, and she's very jealous of Zoe. She was so bad in the last book, but in this one she's evil to the tenth power and relentless in her pursuit of Gavin. There were some really shocking moments with Scarlet that I won't even try to describe. Kendall Grey knows how to develop her characters, and Scarlet is definitely worthy of winning a best villain contest hands down! Then there is Sinnder. I get the feeling he's been working on his own agenda all along. He's one to watch in the next book for sure!

Zoe Morgan has got to be one of my favorite strong heroines. She has a connection to whales like no other, and there are some revelations as to why she has this gift. Always focused on her career, I kept wanting to knock some sense into her every time she turned Gavin down. Hello, Zoe, Mr. Perfect from your dreams is real, and he very much wants you! Eventually she gives in and these two together, either in The Dreaming or Realis, sizzle off the pages! It's not all happy though for this couple, they run into problems and struggle at finding time for one another. Plus, they keep getting interrupted during intimate moments! Oh my goodness, the unresolved sexual tension is off the charts!!! Nonetheless, the way their relationship progresses in Realis seems very real for a biologist and rock star. This brings me to Gavin * insert dreamy sigh here * Cassidy. If you fell for him in the first book like I did, then he will melt you into a puddle of goo in this one for sure! Gavin is way more than a rock star. He wants to protect Zoe from any harm, defend the Wyldlings, and takes his Sentinel duties very seriously. He does all that and writes music and performs at concerts too! I think Gavin has become my number one favorite fictional rock star! I can't help it. I just love how he's written! It's no wonder Scarlet wants him so badly, but his heart belongs to Zoe, his muse.

Intense, exhilarating, shocking, and heart-wrenching, Exhale is truly a worthy sequel to Inhale and shows that Kendall Grey can push her characters way beyond limits. Please do read this series in order. The world building displays expertise and is beautifully executed. I don't even want to speculate what will happen next. After reading Exhale, it opens up a world of possibilities for the third book, Just Breathe. The bar is set high. I really can't wait!!!

My first and only whale sighting was on my honeymoon. It was a gorgeous Hawaiian spring afternoon on the western side of Maui. While strolling the beach, someone near me yelled out “There's a whale!” and pointed out over the blue water. A couple hundred feet away a whale was surfacing and spouting. What I experienced in that next moment was something so beautiful and spiritual that it was almost unexplainable. I left Hawaii with that whale locked into a special place in my heart. Since then I've enjoyed learning about whales. If there's a whale documentary on TV, I'm watching it! Whales are such magnificent and fascinating creatures!

Vividly Brilliant!

As the first book of the Just Breathe trilogy, Inhale proves to be an urban fantasy book not to be missed! I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I started reading Inhale. All I knew was that the story had whales, a rock star and takes place in Australia. Cool! I love each of those things separately, let's see how it all comes together.

Introducing us to a parallel world called The Dreaming, Kendall Grey creatively weaves the lives of Zoe Morgan, a passionate whale biologist, and Gavin Cassidy, a rock star-tatted hottie. In reality the two don't know each other as they live their separate lives. Zoe is in charge of a whale tagging project in Hervey Bay, Australia. Gavin is uninspired and trying to survive his rock star life. They meet in their dreams and the story just takes off from there!

Not only did the story come together, each chapter leaves you wanting more! The ending left my heart racing! Kendall Grey has written a brilliant story that I think will appeal to many people. Do you like strong heroines? Zoe is a woman on a mission and not afraid to fight for what she wants. Do you like rock star heroes? Well, Gavin is swoon-worthy as he shows off his guitar skills, as well as his protective nature! The author beautifully and vividly brings to life the classical elements of air, fire, earth and water in her imaginative world building, includes the spirit of Aboriginal lore and gives a voice to the gentle, giant creatures of the sea. So if you're a fan of whales, you'll enjoy this one too! Plus, the author is donating all profits from the sale of the Just Breathe trilogy to whale education.
