Holly's Review:

I am so very sad to say goodbye one of my favorite rock star boyfriends, but this was a beautiful, perfect end to the series!!

We watched Kellen & Kiera go through so god awful, painful times in Thoughtless and Effortless and come out the other side and find happiness together. Reckless picks right up as the band is edging into the big time and getting ready to tour. Now that Kiera has finished school she is planning to stand by her man and tour with the band. They of course have some issues but the thing I loved most about this one was I didn't feel like I was gonna lose my shit reading it!! Sometimes during the first two books I would find myself bawling so hard I had to put it down and walk away for a bit.

Reckless is not quite as heavy! That said there are of course tests and trials of Kellan and Kiera's love for each other, which couldn't be stronger btw, but there are also a ton of sweet and amazing moments!! My favorite being the rose petals as a sort of post it notes - every damn time I felt myself melt a little! Oh and the tattoo! They are just the sweetest effing couple I can't stand it!

“He needed more and more of me. He would always want me near him. I would always be first in his eyes. We were a good match. A perfect match. Soul mates.”

Kiera is no longer wishy washy which was one of my biggest issues with her early on in the series. She has really seemed to grow up emotionally. I also have to mention how much I loved the where the relationship between Kellen, Kiera and Denny has gone and how far they have all come! This is truly a story of true love, forgiveness, friendship and family!

I will end this by saying that if you loved the first two parts of this story I can guarantee you will absolutely love the way it ends. We are even blessed with a wonderfully beautiful epilogue so you can breath a beautiful sigh contentment when you finally read their last page!

Sam's Review:

This is a book that I cannot convey into words how it has made me feel. I already am a fan of S.C Stephens work and have read multiple books from her but this book had so much more depth and emotion that on more than once occasion I was wiping the tears away from my eyes. This book, in my opinion moved something in me, and days later I still feel the emotional pull this book has over me. It will be a book that I will want to read over and over just so I can connect with these characters again and move with them on their journey together to triumph over everything they thought they never could.

 I wish I could convey the emotion that this book evokes in you. The utter despair you feel for Lucas as he tries to make his way through an nonexistent life, the treatment he received from the student body, his struggles with his most inner demons and to see Sawyer; his saviour come down like an angel from heaven and be his saving grace. Sawyer was beautiful; she didn’t give up on Lucas. She seemed to be the only one that could understand he was going through something deeper than what everyone else could see. These characters have touched a spot deep in my heart to think these events are things 17 year olds should never in their life have to endure. 

 While this was a sad and tragic story of Lucas and the disasters he faced after losing his three friends in car accident it is in itself a blossoming love story and a story of how life goes on. I stumbled across this book when I think it was re released. I felt that this was very realistic and a story that has sadly more than likely occurred across the world on more than one occasion.

 This is a severely emotional book, but a book that should not be missed. I truly feel this story moved me beyond what any book has for a very long time. While almost painful at time to read the story line was so compelling that at the same time the thought of putting it down distressed me.


A true masterpiece.

Bloodlines (Conversion #2) By S.C Stephens

Emma has admittedly made some bad decisions in her life, but she was positive that being with Teren Adams wasn’t one of them. He was everything she’d ever wanted in a man – kind, caring, loyal, loving, and on occasion, a hopeless romantic. True, he was also a vampire, or partially so, and had recently joined the ranks of the undead, but to Emma, that was inconsequential. She was his, he was hers, and she could not wait to be his bride, to mother his children, and to stay by his side for as long as her mortal life would allow her to. At least…that was the plan.

Sam's Review:

 Bloodlines is the second book in the Conversions Trilogy. Second book in and we meet up with Teren and Emma, almost immediately where we left them in Conversions, Emma pregnant with their twins and engaged to Teren.
We follow Emma and Teren through some good and tough times in this book, but when a nasty ass Vampire strikes at Emma, the Adams family goes on a mad dash to save not only Emma but her twins too!

I loved a lot about this book but also was beginning to get aggravated with alot of things as well.

Teren and Emma’s wedding was beautiful and can only be described as a dream wedding. The way Stephens described all the detail just gave you the illusion that you were standing there with them.

Loved that we got a little more intimate in this book. In book one, Stephens gave you the general census that Teren and Emma were going at it like animals but we never got the juicy details. Thankfully, in Bloodlines we got more detailed heavy petting LOL!

The book did have a Twilight feel to it, and I know this has been said before. But I have to agree. Only difference is that we are dealing with very horny adult vampires/ humans.

I did find myself skimming alot! I could skim three or four pages and not miss a beat. Stephens was just way to descriptive. A good setting description for certain scenes is always a winner, but this was going beyond realms of what I felt was needed.

Now, I didn’t bring this up in my first review because it wasn’t too much of a sore point, but now we are in to book two I have to say something. Emma’s sister is a burns victim. When she was younger she was caught in a house fire and is described as horrifically scarred. Now, it’s not the character I have the issue with it’s the constant way that Stephens would describe the girl. Every time she was introduced to a scene, she was described as the most horrific sight you have ever seen. It got a little too much to bare and wish it was let up on a little.
Overall, a good read. I’m looking forward to the next book to finish off and wrap up the series.
  

 

Conversions By S.C Stephens (conversion #1)

Emma is happy. She's got a promising career in front of her, great friends, and a pretty amazing family. But her social life has been a little lacking lately. That's when fate stepped in, and crashed her into a tall, dark and handsome man. Sure, he has his secrets...don't we all, and, yeah, maybe his secrets are a little more unusual than most - like he's a partial vampire who can walk around during the day, but also enjoys a little plasma nightcap now and again - but to Emma, he's single, successful, and an extraordinary gentleman. That makes up for a lot. Of course, his condition is a bit more serious than he first lets on, and living a life with him will require some sacrifices that most just aren't willing to make. Will she? Is love enough to compensate for a life that will never be anywhere near the realm of normalcy? But then again...what's normal anyway?

Sam's Review:

 What a world S.C Stephens has created! I had no idea what I was getting myself in for when I opened this book. I knew that I loved ‘Thoughtless’ and ‘Effortless’ so I knew that this would not be any different.
This story was certainly a new concept in the world of Vampires for me. The story is based around Emma Taylor who is in a very monogamous job, lives in a small family home and is living in a world of repetition. She is bored with her life and is waiting for something or someone to come along and sweep her off her feet. Lucky for her, she literally runs into Teren, Vampire extraordinaire.

So what makes this vampy story different from others? You see, Taren is only a ‘little bit Vampire’. He is almost completely human. He is a third generation vamp and as such is more human than fanger.  Taren and Emma become very quickly involved in a hot and heavy relationship that when you first read may come across as rushed, but there is very much a  reason for that (most of the reasons cannot be explained without severe spoilers).

This was really a sweet love story. And a hard book to put down. I loved that this was a new spin on Vampires. The book is actually based around what happens after the two meet, not so much their meeting and hooking up. The secondary characters were perfectly fitted into the story and there weren’t any useless page fillers.

What I didn’t like? The constant and repetitive way that Emma was always hitting and smacking Teren! OMG! This woman was laying into him left, right and centre! Every other line was ‘I smacked his arm, I belted his chest...’ it was too much and in the end I felt like I wanted to reach into the book and snap the chic’s wrist!

I have book two and three lined on my kindle to read next and I’m looking forward to having more of this new and diverse Vampire world revealed to me.

Elena's Thoughts:

This novel was so gut wrenching and  painful to read. It had it’s good and bad times. Every time I clicked to the next page my thoughts were “Oh No’s what’s gonna happen now?” I swear, if it were a paperback novel I would’ve cheated and went straight to the end of the novel. LOL!! I didn’t want to be disappointed if there wasn’t a Happily Ever After. But for once,I got what I wanted...

Kiera's trust issues will make you wanna strangle her! But,It all happens for a reason,I took the time to hate and love her character. I for one,wouldn’t know how to handle keeping a long term relationship with a Rock Star boyfriend who goes on tour for six months. And Let me not forget to mention Kellan Kyle is the definition of a player. Having so many sexual partners he’s lost count how many woman he’s slept with. But in his world Kiera is his everything,his world,but is it enough to keep the love of his life to trust him? I don’t know..........read and find out. So this is where, I totally understand the Heroines POV of the story. But then again,would I ever put myself in a circus situation and deal with all the drama? Hmmmm If it’s Kellan Kyle? HECKS YEAH!!!!!! LOL!!! In reality? Hell Freaking NO!! Now you see where I’m going with ,my opinions with this story. It’s confusing,emotionally distraught,intense,but then again,it has a really good story, very romantic “you can feel the love in the air kinda of stuff” Sexually hot! *sweaty palms* It’s everything that I love in a novel,I just really wished the heroine took her trusting and insecurities down a notch,but it is what is is.

If you’re not a fan of cheating and love triangles,then I would skip book 1 “Thoughtless” you can read the second book and enjoy it for the story that it is. Everything gets repeated in small glimpses in this novel. So skip it. I promise you’re not missing out on much. But then again,if you can take in all the above,the go for it,It’s a great novel. See once again I’m confused about my feelings for this novel. I’m totally twisted up and emotional wrung out. LOL!!

Must have series,Love It,Hate It,but you’ll get over it.....ahahahaha... I believe Fans of "Beautiful Disaster by Jaime McGuire" and "All The Wrong Reasons By J.L Paul" will  ENJOY this series.

BTW! Don’t let the covers to this series fool you,it’s not a young adult series.
