know the story, boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, boy gets
girl pregnant, boy gets amnesia.....But seriously, that is the exact
premise of this book and as soap opera corny as that may sound this was
actually a really good book!! Maya Banks has never let me down and this
is no exception. Rafe and Bryony spend a wonderful four weeks falling in
love on the island where she lives and when Rafe attempts to return to
New York to attend to some business he has an accident and wakes with
amnesia and absolutely no memory of his time on the island or Bryony.
So, imagine his surprise when a hopping mad, very pregnant Bryony shows
up demanding WTF!! Even though Rafe doesn't remember her he can't deny
the spark between them and decides that they should return to the island
to retrace their steps, in a way and possibly fall in love all over
again. I spent most of this book aching for one or the other of these
characters, you could just feel their hurt and confusion~~ But, have no
fear, there is always a HEA!! I was pleasantly surprised at how much I
enjoyed this book and find myself happily awaiting the arrival of the
others in this series!!
The author of For Her Pleasure makes readers surrender to erotic romantic suspense. It doesn't get much hotter.

Just the book to drag me out of what seemed my never
ending book funk. I feel like I can always fall back onto a Maya Bank book and
be guaranteed an intense, addictive read. Sweet Embrace was no different.
Gray is a cop working undercover to find and avenge
his partner’s killer. When a tip comes that the killer is involved with a woman
who constantly smooches of her daughter, Gray arranges to go undercover at the
office’s where the daughter works and get close to the daughter to see what he
can find out and hopefully bring justice to his partner.
Faith is a strong; independent woman who knows what
she is looking for. She craves to have a man take charge in a relationship –
she wants to have to relinquish all control and let someone else do it for her.
She is surprised when she finds all the qualities she is looking for in Gray.
Little does she realize that Gray is lying to her about why and who he is, the
whole time? (IMPENDING DOOM ANYONE?)
One point I must make; shower scenes are hot, bath
scenes romantic/hot – but this book had enough bathing to have their skin
wrinkle and dissolve – obviously these two were not in a draught. It got to
much and I found myself skimming the multiple shower/bath scenes.
The secondary characters were the ones that really
caught my attention. Micah was freaking hot! His tiny scenes with Faith in the
bedroom turned me on hotter than the ones with Faith and Gray. Then there was
Damon, his character did seem odd in the context of the story. I did feel like
he was just ‘placed’ in there to fill in a spot – but heck, who cares when there
is a millionaire willing to share whatever they have with you for the off
chance they might get a go at you. I cannot wait to read their stories.

I hands down loved this book! I loved it better than
the first one, I loved its story line, I love the Hero, I loved the Heroine and
I just gosh darn it love everything about it! The story between Alaric and
Keeley almost tore me apart. I was teary eyed on more than one occasion during
this read. Their secret love for another was bittersweet because Alaric is
already engaged to another woman from another clan to help forge an alliance
between the clans.
There is everything you could want in this story. There
is a beautiful, heart wrenching love story, humour and action. The author is
very descriptive and I could just imagine the beautiful Highlands while
reading. The characters are very likable - I just fell in love that little bit
more with the reclusive brother Caelen. He showed us another side of himself in
this book, and I’m ticking off the days until I get to read his mysterious
story.
I don’t usually go into too much detail about sex
scenes, but I just have to with this one. These two are HAWT! Alaric was most
certainly showing of his inner Dom in one of these scenes, and I can tell you
that even I was cheering for the medieval Highland Dom to come out!
I will warn you that this book has a very emotional
end. It just comes out of nowhere and kicks you in the arse. I was in tears and
the only thing that got me through it was the knowledge that surly something
had to change, right?
Five stars seem to low of a rating for this novel. It
really was a book that pulled at the old heart strings. This books a real
winner for me but I have a funny feeling that Caelens book will be the one that
steals all the lime light from his brothers.

Well well well what lookie what I stumbled across here! I am surprised at how much I liked this novel. I have read alot of Maya Banks in the past but nothing Historical from her, let alone a Highland Novel. I got this book on the day it was released by for some reason kept putting it on the back burner while I read other things, but after coming across a book trailer that made me almost wet myself in hysterics I went and picked it up straight away.

Both characters were fantastic! I didn’t have any whims about either. Both were fun and quirky. Ewan’s brothers, Alaric and Caelan; both intrigued me as well and I cannot wait to read the next two books to read what is install for them. Lucky for us! The second story has already been released and the third is only a month away!
