Welcome E L James and her Blog Tour for "Fifty Shades Freed" It's been a few months since we've all have been longing for this novel and now that it's finally here,we're all trying our hardest to compose ourselves, there's so much fan-girl squealing going around. (Not that Christian Grey would approve. LOL!!) We can't help it. E L James has written a phenomenal breathtaking trilogy. We don't know anyone who could pull off her characters as flawlessy as she's done. In honor of her Trilogy we welcome EL James to our blog with open arms, and we want to thank her for taking the time and stopping by to give us a small glimpse about her real world and her her insights on the beautiful mastermind of her characters.
EL James:
As anyone who knows me, knows I am not a blogger. The thought of writing a guest post always fills me with dread. What could I possibly write about that people want to hear about? And then I thought, everyone wants to know about Christian, hero of the Fifty Shades trilogy.
Ah – Christian, Christian, Christian. He’s my fantasy man. What can I say? He’s hot, controlling, disgustingly wealthy, smart, competent in so many areas, and knows exactly what to do in bed, but he is deeply, deeply broken and in need of some serious TLC. Who doesn’t like to think that their love could heal someone?
I was honored to attend a private book launch party in New York for Fifty Shades Freed, organized at practically a moments notice by the very lovely Lyss Stern of Divamoms. Lyss pulled off a fabulous event and I thank her and all those involved from the bottom of my heart. During the Q & A someone asked me if I intentionally made Christian really creepy during the first part of the first book, Fifty Shades of Grey. I was a little thrown by the question, because Christian is not creepy to me. When I set out to write the story, I was the only one who knew how broken this seemingly successful man is and why he acts the way he does. For me a hot alpha-hero with a tortured past is a far more entertaining read than someone who is level headed and understands their own actions. Poor Christian is completely thrown by his reaction to Ana – he falls very hard for her – but doesn’t understand his feelings at all… and he tries to address them in the only way he knows how. He’s an emotional virgin, whereas Ana is a sexual virgin. Together they embark on both an emotional and sexual journey, learning a great deal about each other and how to handle each other along the way.
We see all this from Ana’s POV. If I’d written it from Christian’s POV, the game would have been up very early. I think the appeal of the books is that via Ana we slowly unwrap the enigma that is Christian Grey (well, that’s what I was hoping for – it’s up to you whether I achieve that or not). In Fifty Shades Freed we see the conclusion of their journey, and finally get to understand the root of Christian’s fifty shades.
It’s only Ana’s unconditional love that brings him to that point. If he’d never met her he’d probably have continued his life as he had before, but been appallingly lonely, and unaware that he was -- bless his Ralph Lauren cotton socks.
So in a nutshell, that’s what this series is about: unconditional love. In my humble opinion all children are entitled to it, and those who don’t get it during their formative years will carry that baggage with them for the rest of their lives. And if they are unfortunate enough to be born into an abusive, neglectful family situation… well, I think parents who abuse their children deserve to be cast into the darkest pit of hell.
So, on that cheery note… maybe I should stick to writing fiction.
Well there you have it, EL James rocks! Who agrees? We do! hehehe...No need to dread, the post was filled with love for your characters. Loved it!

I'll admit to thinking Christian is creepy in the first book. I love reading about their story but I wouldn't want any part of it.
Newest GFC follower, please come show some love at my blog. Thanks.
Great post and I loved your insight on Grey and Ana.
Congratulations on the release, too.
