Welcoming....
Laura Hunsaker
Today Laurie, has agreed to come and take
over the blog for a little bit. But first I wanted to tell everyone about
Laurie. I met Laurie through Goodreads before her first book – Highland Destiny – was released.
We would muck about laughing at our kids and how ridiculous they could be. I
discovered just how beautiful a person she really was. I held off reading Highland Destiny out of
fear. What if I didn’t like it? Thankfully after growing a pair, I manned up
and read it. It was awesome – and I maintained a friend LOL! Laurie and I now
Skype when we have time and I love that I knew her before her new found fame
hit. I hope that you all enjoy what Laurie has to say and if you haven’t already,
go out there and buy Highland Destiny, or better yet – enter our giveaway at
the bottom to win a copy!

Prologue
She looked across
the room of dancing guests and swirling colors, and stared into the
cold, hard eyes of her betrothed. This was undoubtedly the most
terrifying moment of her entire life. Her death was imminent, and
unstoppable. And she knew. She knew that it would not be enough. Her
death would not stop the pain and destruction that she’d so desperately
fought to end. Her hopes had crashed the instant she had stared into
those flat eyes. There was no hate, or anger, like she’d been expecting;
they were just empty. And it scared her. But she refused to let the
fear weaken her; she would meet her death with a stoicism she’d never
dreamed she possessed. Before she could stop them, her fingers fluttered
to her churning stomach betraying her nerves, but she straightened her
spine and dropped her hand. With a careful expression of boredom, she
walked forward, and sat down next to the man she’d agreed to marry, the
man who would kill her by midnight. And she prayed without much hope
that her death would be enough.
Thanks for having me here,
guys! For those of you who don’t know
me, I’m Laura Hunsaker, and I write Scottish Time Travel Romances. My first book Highland Destiny is about a 21st century girl from
Vegas, being dragged through time to Scotland, in the year 1792. Big culture shock, right? Well, I’ve been hard at work for months
working on my next in the series when these two voices wouldn’t stop chatting
in my head. It got annoying. Finally I sat down and wrote out a few of the
things they said. Yeah, those few things
became about 10,000 words. I’m almost to
20,000 words now and the end is in sight.
Hooray! But I wanted to tell you
a bit about my novella Highland Games.
Piper Grant is a
California surfer girl. She surfs all
the time, barely holding down a part-time job at the library because the only
time she ever feels at peace is on the waves.
Her bff is getting ready to go to Scotland for vacation, when her mom
gets sick. So Piper takes her place, and
heads off to the Highland Games. But
Piper never in a million years expects to meet a real Highland Warrior. She figured it would be more re-enactors than
anything authentic. But then she meets
Malcolm. He says he’s from the 1700s and
wants her to go back with him. Piper
isn’t buying his brand of crazy, so Colm takes her with him. This novella is a bit lighter than Highland
Destiny and it’s a wee bit more fun.
Colm is such a cheeky guy it’s hard not to like him, and Piper may not
actually be a 21st century lass after all. You’ll have to read to find out whether
she’ll stay with him, or go back to her old life of sun sand and surf.
Highland
Games,
expected out early 2012

A surfer chick and a Highlander. Sounds like a hoot, I'm getting a visual of her teaching him to surf on a long board in a kilt and broadsword. *snort* This is one I'll have to check out.
