Cover Revealed! Wicked Nights by Gena Showalter

I'm sure Gena Showalter is SER's Ladies favorite authors. Who will not love her books? (even I'm still a little bit disappointed with The Darkest Surrender, but that's just me :P). Today, as a Halloween treat, Gena just revealed the cover of Wicked Nights, the first book of Angels of The Darks. The spin-off from her famous and fabulous series Lords of The Underworld!

From the New York Times bestselling author who brought you the Lords of the Underworld comes a dark, seductive new series featuring angels poised at the brink of destruction…

Leader of the most powerful army in the heavens, Zacharel has been deemed too dangerous, too ruthless, and if he isn’t careful, he’ll lose his wings. But this warrior with a heart of ice will not be deterred . . . until a vulnerable human tempts him with a carnal pleasure he’s never before known.

Accused of a crime she did not commit, Annabelle Miller has spent four years in an institution for the criminally insane. Demons track her every move, and their king will stop at nothing to have her. Zacharel is her only hope for survival, but is the brutal angel with a touch as hot as hell her salvation—or her ultimate damnation?

My thought about this cover :
Holy Moley Naked Batman!!!
When I think The Darkest Seduction is the hottest LOTU cover, Zacharel's book steal the attention!!The background look too simple, just plain black, but the model pose are outstanding! Think if this angel finally find his wicked side? And look of those hot abs. Hubba, hubba!! Zacharel make me yours!
BTW,
Pairing of human and angel, I can guess, in the end the heroine will be immortal, or vice versa. Just sayin ;P

So, what is your opinion about this cover? Like it, love it, hate it?  Talk, talk! =D

Sugar Creek - Toni Blake

Welcome to Destiny, Ohio—where two families have been at odds as long as anyone in town can remember. Rachel Farris returned to her childhood home with one mission in mind: get Mike Romo out of her family's apple orchard business and out of their lives. But hard-nosed and totally hot Mike, who happens to be the law in Destiny, is convinced the Farris clan stole the land from his family fifty years ago and he's not backing down. Even when shapely trouble shows up in a pair of designer blue jeans. However, neither the hunky cop nor the sexy prodigal hometown girl can anticipate the electricity that heats things up whenever they're together—adding new sizzle to an ongoing feud that's raged for generations, and soon putting both their hearts at risk.

Best Book In This Series! Whoo Hoo!

It's a love/hate relationship between Rachel Farris and Mike Romo.

I loved the Hot Bad Boy Snooty Cop from the previous book One Reckless Summer but Mike was just sooooo much hotter arrogant and everything nice in this book...I LOVED! I LOVED IT,I LOVED IT! Lolz!

As for Rachel,I Loved her just the same. Her attitude, bad behavior and smart potty mouth kept me on my toes.A woman that's not afraid to back mouth a cop and tells it like it is. That's my kinda Heroine!

Oh! Let me not forget Edna,Rachel's grandmother;another character in this novel that I loved! She is funny, intelligent and all full of secrets!

Well for starters here's just a small glimpse of what the books is about. Edna Rachel's grandmother calls and asks her for a favor to help harvest apples from her Apple Orchid business for their fall festival. In which that business is what started a family feud between Rachel & Mike's family "The Ferris & Romo's" for over 50 years. Looks Like Grandma Edna Ferris & Giovanni Romo (Mike's grandfather) were hot for one another back in the days. Until Giovanni decides to be the bad boy that he is & Edna acts out and takes back the farm that Giovanni had given to her as a promise to her that he would come back and marry her. That's where all the drama and family feud begins.Nothing ever turns out the way we expect it to be. I didn't feel bad for Giovanni at all,he deserved being treated that way after the things he did.

Anywhoo....Back on topic here.....Mike and Rachel obviously have an attraction between one another. Really to the point where I can feel the hot steamy tension between the two.Goodness! The whole family feud scenerio doesn't help neither, their bickering, and teasing clashed the entire time in this novel. So I was so surprised when they warm up to each other and talk about their pasts and present fears/problems. I would never have thought these too could actually get a long and fall in love. I guess anythings possible.

I really loved this novel & hope to enjoy the next book the same, although I don't think anyone can fight off my attraction and liking for Mike,He's just that HOT and undeniably attractive!

My Thanks and Review goes to Miss Kim She rec'd an incredible series which I loved! I can't believe it took me so long to finish up this series, but it was so worth it! Thanks Kim! XOXO's

Love,
Chichi's Girl! *winks* LOL!

Long Time Coming - Scarlet Parrish

Piper Holt’s only after one thing: a man who’s only after one thing. Previous lovers demanded either subservience or her heart, neither of which are up for negotiation, so Leo Carson's attitude makes him her ideal match. Handsome, shameless and equally impulsive, he appears to want nothing more than a white-hot overnight liaison. 'Overnight' somehow develops into the entire weekend but come Monday morning, pride keeps her back turned and Piper walks away. Denying her own feelings doesn't mean that Leo has none though, and if she's going to atone for hurting him she'll have to admit the 'one thing' she now wants is the man she's in danger of losing forever

Long Time Coming
By Scarlett Parrish
M/F Contemporary Erotica

Piper Holt has just broken up with her boyfriend, (who is an asshole, by-the-way). So now with her sense of freedom, she’s decided to have some fun, starting with her brothers’ friend Gray. Piper and Gray met previously at a party her brother was having a while back, and have been harboring an attraction for each other since. They finally hook up, and all seemed to be going well on their date, which ended up in the sack… exactly where Piper intended to get him. But in the throws of orgasm, Gray drops the “L” bomb, sending Piper “running for the hills”, if you will. Piper is not looking for love, she’s looking for one thing, and wants a man that’s out for one thing.

While Piper is out clubbing, and pubbing one night, she meets Leo Carson. *swoon* Leo is gorgeous, sexy, brash and has no compunctions about saying or doing exactly what’s on his mind. Piper gives him the digits, and about a week later Leo calls Piper for a date. Well, that date ends up exactly where they both want…. against the door, in the bed, in the kitchen ect. What starts out as a one nighter, ends up being a weekender, and by Monday morning the weight of saying goodbye starts bearing down on Piper. Piper isn’t alone, Leo doesn’t want to let Piper go either, but neither of them say a word, and go their separate ways. After several days, Leo shows up at Piper’s workplace, and turns her world upside down. For everything Leo has been, circumstances prove him to be chivalrous, and protective as well. But it seems the more Piper feels toward Leo, the harder she pushes him away, her fear of rejection driving her actions to the point of being a bitch. Leo walks away, and forces Piper to admit what she desperately doesn’t want to, but she’ll never be the same after Leo. He’s turned her inside out physically and emotionally.

This is the first erotica I’ve read written in the first person POV. The story is told from Piper’s perspective, and Scarlett Parrish has done a phenomenal job with this. I was able to discern Leo, and his actions outside of the bedroom for what they were, and how they were meant. As for the erotic, Leo certainly made my toes curl, and my body parts quiver!! Leo *rawr* is definitely going on my “makes my toes curl” shelf.

A big “THANK YOU” to my friend that recommended this book, you know who you are. You always Rock on the rec’s.

You just have to watch this! I havent laughed so hard in ages! It gets better as it goes along so keep watching!

Dark Fever (Fever #1) - Karen Marie Moning

MacKayla Lane’s life is good. She has great friends, a decent job, and a car that breaks down only every other week or so. In other words, she’s your perfectly ordinary twenty-first-century woman. Or so she thinks…until something extraordinary happens. When her sister is murdered, leaving a single clue to her death–a cryptic message on Mac’s cell phone–Mac journeys to Ireland in search of answers. The quest to find her sister’s killer draws her into a shadowy realm where nothing is as it seems, where good and evil wear the same treacherously seductive mask. She is soon faced with an even greater challenge: staying alive long enough to learn how to handle a power she had no idea she possessed–a gift that allows her to see beyond the world of man, into the dangerous realm of the Fae…. As Mac delves deeper into the mystery of her sister’s death, her every move is shadowed by the dark, mysterious Jericho, a man with no past and only mockery for a future. As she begins to close in on the truth, the ruthless Vlane–an alpha Fae who makes sex an addiction for human women–closes in on her. And as the boundary between worlds begins to crumble, Mac’s true mission becomes clear: find the elusive Sinsar Dubh before someone else claims the all-powerful Dark Book–because whoever gets to it first holds nothing less than complete control of the very fabric of both worlds in their hands….

*********************

MacKayla Lane (Mac) was expected to go on living after her sister Alina, was murdered.Unfortantly, Mac has other plans. She goes to Dublin,Ireland to dig in and get more information on who killed her beloved sister and why. Unexpected twists and turns of events occur. Basically all her plans have add ons. She learns there's a whole mystical world out there she never new existed. Mac's life as she knows it has changed from here on out.

Jericho Barrons, *sighs* He tries to warn Mac to leave everything alone and go home. But Nooooo she's too stubborn! So Barrons sticks by her side and  gets involved with her and her
shenanigans.Although he gets his fare share use outta her as well.

I've written enough updates to explain how I feel about Barron's , so I promise not to engulf myself in his undies. I'll just say,if you've never read this series, don't let his attitude persona fool you.I wanna be the weenie teeny wedgie stuck up his Arse. He's just so yummy! Purrrrrrrr...

Hmm... I still haven't learned exactly what Mac is.Which was a little frustrating.I'm trying to put my finger on it,it's a dead end for me.I'll find out soon enough. Is  she a Fae,Null,Vampire, Witch, My Mama? Rotfl! I'll find out soon enough. I'm also really curious to what Barrons is. He's another mystery I can't figure out.

Now for the big shebang! Mac and Barron are on a mission to find the Sinsar Dubh:A book of magic that was written a million years ago. ...The catch everyone is looking for that book for their own reasons.

Thinking to self: "Can I put the next installment to this series on hold? Hell friggin NO! I must be crazy thinking that. I'm hooked.I have a KMM Fever addiction! Onto the next book,Asap!"

Thanks to my gal pals,Rhonda and Jen for making me pick up this series when I thought I wasn't ready, and held my hand.I loved it! Totally worth it.

Btw! This novel is sexless with lots of sexual tension, I've added it to my "Quiver" Shelf, just because there's a Sex Dream Goddess babe, named V'lane that works his magic like no other. Woo Baby! *goes to find missing bra and panties*

The Perfect Play - Jaci Burton

From the national bestselling author of Riding the Night comes an erotic story about love and the games people play. The last thing event planner Tara Lincoln needs is the jet-set lifestyle of a football pro like Mick Riley; even though their steamy and passionate one-night stand proved that Mick is an all-star-both on the field and in the bedroom. Tara played the game of love once and lost big, and she doesn't intend to put herself out there again, especially with a certified heartbreaker. But when Mick sets his mind to win, nothing will stop him. And he has the perfect play in mind to catch this sultry vixen

Fist and for most I’m going to do EXACTLY what all the other fan girls of this book have done and just sit  here for a little while with maybe a little bit of drool coming from my mouth whilst I ogle the front cover of this book. Heaven have mercy – could Jed Hill get maybe a little but hotter? He has got to be the perfection of male specimens.

This is a very erotic and captivating book.  I didn’t think I could like a sports romance, but this book just set me on fire. It had enticing characters, a story line to keep my hanging on and a cute almost dream come true feel.

Mick Riley is the epitome of man. Yummy! He is the super star quarterback for the San Francisco Sabers – anyone who is anyone wants to be him, be seen with him, or be with him. Mick’s agent, Elizabeth wants nothing more than to see the new hottest thing hanging off Micks arm so he can make more money money money. Mick is tiring of this life style and when by an off chance runs into a woman looking lost in the men’s locker rooms he is more than happy to point her in the right direction. Mick is instantly attracted to her, but he doesn’t even get her name.

Tara Lincon is in her 30’s, a single mom to a 14 year old boy – Nathan and is building her Event Planning business up from the ground. When Tara has been giving the charge of organizing the teams summer party she doesn’t expect to run into the gorgeous piece of man that she met briefly earlier in the day.  Tara isn’t interested in a relationship but Mick is surly tempting – he is everything she thought he wouldn’t be. Tara is torn between a man who could have any women he wants – but wants her, and protecting her son  and life she has created.

The story is filled with alot of emotion and heartbreak, its reeking of hot sex and adjusting to new lifestyles. Both characters have to overcome issues to be with each other and learn alot along the way. The pair get to spend time with Micks family, were we get to met Micks brother and sister who each have their own books.

Both characters were fantastic! I loved Mick; he was everything a woman could want. Built like a brick shit house, wealthy – but not up yourself wealthy, good looking, kind hearted and down to earth. He actually felt pretty real. He had a pretty major personal problem that worked in well with the book – but I’m not letting that cat out of the bag.

Tara was a fiercely protective mother, and so she should have been. I applauded her for that, and when her son was compromised I agree when she stood up to for him. She did have some trust issues, but that was mainly because of her past and I understood that.      I think Tara was pretty much in awe the whole time thinking that there was no way a normal girl like her could end up with someone like Mick. It was like a fairy tale.

All in this entire book scored a touchdown in my book! LOL!!

Laid Bare by Lauren Dane

Unexpected Desire...

It's been ten years since clean-cut, sexy-as-hell police officer Todd Keenan had a white-hot fling with Erin Brown, the provocative, wild rocker chick next door. Their power exchange in the bedroom got under his skin. But love wasn't in the cards just yet...

Now, life has thrown the pair back together. But picking up where they left off is tough, in light of a painful event from Erin's past. As Todd struggles to earn her trust, their relationship takes an unexpected and exciting turn when Todd's best friend, Ben, ends up in their bed--and all three are quite satisfied in this relationship without a name. As the passion they share transforms Erin, will it be enough to help her face the evil she thought she had left behind?

He kissed her, feeling laid bare before her.

The first book of Brown Sibling, features the middle child Erin Brown, and her lovers, Todd Keenan and Ben Copeland.

The story begins 10 years ago.  Erin Brown and Todd Keenan have a relationship when their at their twenties (Erin 24, Todd, not sure).  Erin is a lady rocker, and Todd is a cop, but Erin already has a crush on her neighbor Todd, and he tries to hide his true desire.  Bold as you please, Erin tells Todd to release at all, but Todd always refuses to.  Finally they broke up and this leaves Erin broken hearted.

Back to the present day, Todd has just divorced his wife, and retired from his cop duty and has started a security business with Copeland Brothers, Ben and Andrew. Todd has changed from 10 years ago. He embrace his sexuality, to domination of his partner in bed. But now he surprised to find Erin has changed too. Once a musician, now Erin owns a cafe and is scarred, not just outside but inside her heart. Erin lost her child and nearly died after attack by a  stalker, Erin now become paranoid, and traumatized, but more mature than 10 years before. Now its time for Todd to renew their relationship and to make Erin whole again. And this time it's not just Todd who loves Erin.  Ben, Todd's partner also wants Erin, and doesn't mind sharing her. How do they manage their "menage" or triad life in front of people and their family since its such unusual relationship? Can Erin's wounds heal so she can love again, not just Todd but Ben as well?  How does Ben place himself, since he just a 3rd person at their life?

Laid Bare is my first Lauren Dane's book. And I enjoyed this one. I read Laid Bare until 6.00 a.m this morning (wow!) and feel satisfied. This book is erotica, and I thought it wouldn't  have a plot, esp when I read some early parts. Guess I was wrong.

10 years ago, both Erin and Todd are young and they do what they want. I like Erin at this time, she confident with her sexuality, while Todd is not. I expect a boring plot when they just start having sex again and again, but then the story moves forward 10 years later and I'm stunned. Sure, Todd and Erin are still making out, but this time, they're more mature, and Todd wants to heal Erin's heart.  I love when there's no need to take a long time for H/h to declare their love. Sometimes I get antsy, when the hero and heroine declare their love. Sometimes it's too early (and makes me roll my eyes). Sometimes they say it near the end and I'm already exhausted over the wait, lol.  When Todd tells Erin her loves her, its feels natural, and it's the same when Erin finally can finally say it. I love how Ms Dane didn't force their relationship, but built it slowl but solid.

I almost cried when learning Erin's past, when she lost her baby. How she felt depressed and defeated, lost in drugs and booze. Lucky for her , she hasd her brothers, Brody and Adrian to pull her back and , give her normalcy  again.  Even when she has problems with Todd, her brothers Brody and Adrian stand up for her. I love the solidity of Brown siblings, maybe because they already lost their parent when they were children, so they protect each other.

The other part I love is Ben Copeland. Ben is bisexual, so he loves men and women. He had a triad (or menage) life before so he doesn't mind sharing Erin with Todd, but he feels uncomfortable with Todd. He loves Todd, not just as friend,  more that that, but they have been friends for a long time. Erin will unite them all.  Even when they'd settled, problems are not always solved. In the eyes of people, and the law, triad life is unusual, Erin can't marry Todd and Ben both. So she marries Todd, because Todd is her first love. This is when new problem begin, how they convince people around and their family, Ben is important for them too. Ms Dane has written it so beautiful, but logical.  Readers will be satisfied with how Ben solved his problem.

There are some BDSM scenes, but its so light. What I love is, even Todd and Ben have domination characteristic, they both gentle and caring to Erin. I don't mind alpha heroes, but sometimes get irritated at them, because they act like chauvinistic pigs and sometimes hurt the heroine. Ben and Todd choose to hurt themselves rather than hurt Erin. They spoiled her, and who doesn't want 2 hot men to care for you at the same time?

I wanted to give this 5 stars, but there were some parts I disliked, like sometime Ms Dane seemed prolong some parts, while I found it wasn't necessary. And just when I think the story is almost over, there's a new problem.  But overall, Laid Bare is a good story.  Its not just an usual love story,  its not just an usual erotica romance.  Its story is about family, its story is about how love can heal you, how love can make you face your life even when its hard, because you know you have people you love at your side.

Kudos to Ms Dane, and I can't wait to read Brody's story at
 Coming Undone

Note :
- I really love the cover, Erin's backside tattoo is cool and great.

- This book have a menage scene, but there's no anal sex. Have a m/m scene but just a little (kissing)

Lust (The Sins and Virtues #1) - Charlotte Featherstone

Of old, humans and Faeries have dwelt side by side in parallel realms. Only the canniest mortals recognize the alluring creatures that often walk—and lie—among them. The righteous Fae of the Seelie Court cherish an ancient quarrel with their Dark counterparts: a curse born of anger and deceit. The Unseelie Court will perish unless one of its princes can win a woman's love—honestly, without coercion…and love her wholly in return. To halt the slow demise of his people, Prince Thane—the embodiment of Lust—infiltrates the Georgian court to seduce his mortal inverse. Noblewoman Chastity Lennox is purity incarnate—a sensual prize well worth winning. But Thane's carnal quest proves more challenging than he ever dreamed. No other has ever been able—or willing—to resist his erotic charms. Chastity's resolve is maddening…and intriguing. It makes him want her all the more. But how best to seduce one who truly seems above temptation? Discover her greatest weakness and become the intoxicating essence of her deepest, most forbidden desires….

**********************

I have always been intrigued and fascinated by stories about the fey, and I have to say this story and the possibility of the additional Sin & Virtues stories definitely has me anxiously wanting more!

The only hope the Unseelie Court (Dark Fey) have of survival is to have the mortal women who possess the seven virtues come willingly to the Dark Fey that possess the seven sins. I know that the Unseelie are suppose to be bad and the Seelie are supposed to be good, but I believe it is for each reader to decide....This book explores the fact that the good and bad do not necessarily coincide with light and dark. The Dark Fey are masters of seduction, sensuality and all things carnal pleasure, but is that actually all that bad?? This reader for one says HELL NO!! Where as the Seelie are all things good and proper, but things are not always as they appear.

Thane, who possesses the sin of Lust, and Chastity are the focus of this book, I enjoyed their story very much as Chastity was at war with herself as to the woman she was supposed to be and the sensual woman she actually was. I was drawn to Thane right away, not only for his seductive ways and dark gorgeousness but also because he was a bit of a dirty talker! I am anxiously awaiting the six other Sins & Virtues books, I will say again what a brilliant storyteller Charlotte Featherstone is and if you have not read her before now what exactly are you waiting for??

I read Mrs. Saare’s book, “Dead, Undead, or Somewhere In Between” About a year ago….. After it sat on my shelf … for a while. After reading it, I could have kicked myself for waiting so long. I fell in love with her story and her characters. After reading book two in the series, “The Renfield Syndrome,” I found myself even more head over heels for this series. I was really excited that Elena loved this series too, after nudging her into it. We are so looking forward to the third instalment in Rhiannon’s Law. If you haven’t yet discovered this series, I suggest you pick it up. It’s such a fun, sexy, crazy ride, and Mrs. Saare will sweep you up in a fast paced story that will leave you wanting more!!

Thanks Jaime for taking time out of your busy schedule to join us today.

Thanks for having me!

*Elena’s Questions for Jaime

Q: If you had the opportunity to write with another author, who would it be?

A: Oh man, that’s tough! There are so many authors I admire. I recently devoured Carolyn Cranes’s Disillusionist Trilogy (I’m eagerly waiting for book three) and would love to work with her. She has such a beautiful voice and a talent for storytelling.

Q: While writing the “The Renfield Syndrome,” you chose to add the Lycans / Werewolves into the story. Was it to get your readers excited or do you have a plan? Will the werewolves continue into the coming book?
A: The simple answer is yes, werewolves will reappear in future instalments. I’m not sure of when that might be.  I’ve always been drawn to shifters, so I wanted to incorporate them into the books.

Q: Here’s a question I hope you can answer; Will Paine get his HEA?

A: I have a general idea of where things are going, so I’d like to “think” he will. However, I’m not a plotter when I write. I have a general idea of where things will go but usually that changes as the story progresses. I want Paine to have his HEA. He’s a character I’ve always loved.

*Rhonda’s Question’s for Jaime

Q: I love to read great kick ass heroines, and I’ve only met a few. Rhiannon Murphy straight up ROCKS! She’s smart, witty, kicks ass, and I love her sense of humour. She is among my favorite heroines, a list she shares with; MacKayla Lane (Fever series), Sinead Donnelly (Demonica series) , Xhex, (BDB) Catherine Crawfield (Night Huntress) , Rose Hathaway (Vampire Academy), Eugenie Markham ( Dark Swan) and Piper Anast ( Piper’s Fury) .
What was your inspiration for creating Rhiannon Murphy?

A: Thank you so much! I’m thrilled that you enjoy reading Rhiannon since she’s a blast to write. Creating her was actually a flash in the pan. I had a glimpse one day of a young woman who worked in a strip club as a bartender and saw dead people. I told my husband about it, he said it sounded interesting, and I literally sat down and started writing.  Her first law came out of nowhere. She is one of those characters that are very vocal, so her “voice” came very naturally to me.

Q: Out of all the books you’ve written, what character is the most fun for you to write? Which Character is most Challenging?

A: Rhiannon is the most fun to write, hands down. She says what she thinks and I love that about her. Disco is the hardest. I’ve been trying to write a vignette from his point of view for months. Each time I start, I can’t hear anything from him.
Q: “The Renfield Syndrome” was pretty gory, and I loved it!! The chick fight between Rhiannon and Jackson was awesome, which scene in Renfield Syndrome was your favorite to write??
A: The scene you mentioned. *smile* It was so much fun to write a fight scene where anything goes. I love horror, so the gory aspects were right up my alley.
Q: Can you tell us about anything you are working on right now or give us a sneak peak?
A: Right now I’m working on the third book in the Rhiannon’s Law series, The Ripple Effect. I’m also working on erotic works under my Aline Hunter pen. It’s nice to be able to go back and forth. Rhiannon is a very dark character, so writing romance is a nice breather. I do have a new urban fantasy in the works. I can’t say much aside from I started writing it last year and I hope to wrap it up as soon as the books I’m contracted for are finished.

Five Question Quickie (short answers)

Q: What are your 3 favorite horror movies?

A: Fright Night, Fright Night II, and The Company of Wolves. I love those!
Q: What’s your favorite TV show?

A: Archer
Q: What is your favorite music genre?

A: Nine Inch Nails -- anything by Trent Reznor.
Q: What are your 3 favorite book series?
A: I love Joey W. Hill’s Vampire Queen Series, Patricia Brigg’s Mercy Thompson series, and Kelley Armstrong’s Tales of the Otherworld.
Q: Favorite food?
Filet Mignon. So expensive but so good!
Thanks again for having me by the blog! It’s been a pleasure!

Sweet Surrender - Maya Banks

ISBN: 0425219437 (ISBN13: 9780425219430)
primary language: English
original title:Sweet Surrender (Sweet Series, #1)
series : Sweet #1

The author of For Her Pleasure makes readers surrender to erotic romantic suspense. It doesn't get much hotter. Dallas cop Gray Montgomery is on a mission to find the guy who killed his partner. So far, he's found a link between the killer and Faith, a beautiful stranger-and if Gray has to get close to her to catch the killer, so be it. And closer still when the killer makes his own moves on the vulnerable young woman.

 *****************

Just the book to drag me out of what seemed my never ending book funk. I feel like I can always fall back onto a Maya Bank book and be guaranteed an intense, addictive read. Sweet Embrace was no different.

Gray is a cop working undercover to find and avenge his partner’s killer. When a tip comes that the killer is involved with a woman who constantly smooches of her daughter, Gray arranges to go undercover at the office’s where the daughter works and get close to the daughter to see what he can find out and hopefully bring justice to his partner.

Faith is a strong; independent woman who knows what she is looking for. She craves to have a man take charge in a relationship – she wants to have to relinquish all control and let someone else do it for her. She is surprised when she finds all the qualities she is looking for in Gray. Little does she realize that Gray is lying to her about why and who he is, the whole time? (IMPENDING DOOM ANYONE?)

The book was an easy read that I got thru in one day. The hero was a little hot and cold, but still very sweet and caring.  Although the last half of the book is kind of scorching ( public displays, anal, ménage, kink, D/S play) it isn’t actually in my frame of mind, classed as kinky or overly erotic. It was done rather tastefully. Pretty much, Banks makes any woman want to submit, especially if it means getting pampered and having nana naps all day like Faith does.

One point I must make; shower scenes are hot, bath scenes romantic/hot – but this book had enough bathing to have their skin wrinkle and dissolve – obviously these two were not in a draught. It got to much and I found myself skimming the multiple shower/bath scenes.

The secondary characters were the ones that really caught my attention. Micah was freaking hot! His tiny scenes with Faith in the bedroom turned me on hotter than the ones with Faith and Gray. Then there was Damon, his character did seem odd in the context of the story. I did feel like he was just ‘placed’ in there to fill in a spot – but heck, who cares when there is a millionaire willing to share whatever they have with you for the off chance they might get a go at you. I cannot wait to read their stories.
Sign me up, because I’m on board the Sweet Train now and I’m not getting off...well actually.... (LOL get it... ‘Getting off’....hahaha)
