Speeding!

A mature lady gets pulled over for speeding...
Older Woman: Is there a problem, Officer?
Traffic Cop: Yes ma'am, I'm afraid you were speeding.
Older Woman: Oh, I see.
Traffic Cop: Can I see your license please?
Older Woman: Well, I would give it to you but I don't have one.
Traffic Cop: Don't have one?
Older Woman: No. I lost it 4 years ago for drunk driving.
Traffic Cop: I see...Can I see your vehicle registration papers please..
Older Woman: I can't do that.
Traffic Cop: Why not?
Older Woman: I stole this car.
Traffic Cop: Stole it?
Older Woman: Yes, and I killed and hacked up the owner.
Traffic Cop: You what!?
Older Woman: His body parts are in plastic bags in the trunk if you want to see
The traffic cop looks at the woman and slowly backs away to his car while calling for back up. Within minutes 5 police cars circle the car. A senior officer slowly approaches the car, clasping his half drawn gun.
Officer 2: Ma'am, could you step out of your vehicle please!
The woman steps out of her vehicle.
Older woman: Is there a problem sir?
Officer 2: My colleague here tells me that you have stolen this car and murdered the owner.
Older Woman: Murdered the owner? Are you serious?!
Officer 2: Yes, could you please open the trunk of your car, please.
The woman opens the trunk, revealing nothing but an empty trunk.
Officer 2: Is this your car, ma'am?
Older Woman: Yes, here are the registration papers.
The traffic cop is quite stunned.
Officer 2: My colleague claims that you do not have a driving license.
The woman digs into her handbag and pulls out a clutch purse and hands it to the officer.
The officer examines the license quizzically.
Officer 2: Thank you ma'am, but I am puzzled, as I was told by my officer here that you didn't have a license, that you stole this car, and that you murdered and hacked up the owner!
Older Woman: Bet the lying bastard told you I was speeding, too.

Accidental Fate by M.A. Stacie

When Leo Sommers opens the door to his record store, the last thing he expects to find is a screaming baby -- a baby that turns out to be his. Flung into parenthood, he struggles to care for the one week old. Unable to contact the baby's mother, he battles the incessantly crying baby alone. Until he literally crashes into his savior.

Erin Miles gets out of her car to trade insurance details with the man who has rear-ended her car, she receives more than she expected. Instantly, she's drawn to the tattooed, exhausted man holding the squalling bundle. She sees how much Leo loves his son and offers help. Erin's patient and gentle caring for Leo and Joe soon develops into something far more than either of them had expected.

Caught up in a whirlwind romance, they are on the cusp of exploring their new relationship, when reality hits them in the face.

Grace's Thoughts:

Photobucket

Just about everything in this short story made my heart melt! First, the cover is simply irresistible! The book summary was intriguing enough for me to want to learn how this tattooed man deals with being thrust into fatherhood when a one-night stand, who he didn't know was pregnant all these months, leaves his baby on his doorstep.

I absolutely loved all the parts that included baby Joe, especially when Leo was holding and comforting him! Leo, bless his heart, wants to do his best for his son. You have to love a hero like that! Yes, Erin and Leo's relationship turns steamy quickly, but not before they spend some days together and build up to their first kiss. They have a few hot & spicy moments in various locations around Leo's apartment, and all I'm gonna say is that Ms. Stacie knows how to write them!

If I were to point out anything negative, it would be that I wanted to know more about the unique puzzle tattoo on Leo's arm. I also really wanted this story to just keep going well after the epilogue! :)

In the end, I found this story to not only be emotional and sexy enough to make my ovaries quiver, but heartwarming as well that my eyes welled up at one point. Definitely a novella worth reading!

Beyond Eden (Eden #1) By Kele Moon

Three lifelong friends find themselves tangled in a web of love, pain and dangerous secrets in this erotic Garden of Eden tale.

Tall, dark and handsome Danny Carlow has always gotten whatever he wants except for the two he wants more than anything-his best friends, lovers Paul and Eve. Determined, he waits like a snake in the grass, poised for the right moment to offer them a temptation too delicious to resist.

Artist Eve Everton makes the painful decision to leave her true love Paul for the siren call of New York City. Ten years later, with her life in shambles, she returns. When Paul's waiting arms aren't available, Eve falls for Danny's charm and finds herself a willing accomplice in the dangerous games Danny plays.

Former college football star Paul Mattling is now a successful attorney with a bright future ahead of him. But behind those brilliant blue eyes are secret desires for a taste of the forbidden. Will he play it safe or give in to Danny and Eve and bite the apple?

Reader Advisory: Not for the faint of heart, the pain in this story is vivid and real, the emotions even more so. Haunting and poignant, Beyond Eden presents a darker side of BDSM. You might gasp. You might cry. You might find yourself reading it again and again.

Holly's Review:

What an amazing, intensely emotional story!

I loved every minute of it!!! This is exactly my favorite kind of book, one that is beautifully emotional and pushes the boundaries a bit. There are a lot of reviews out there that give the synopsis of the story so I am going to skip that part, I just had to put out there how much these 3 people grabbed my heart and won't let go, even now that I'm finished I find myself thinking about them.... This is definitely not you typical fluffy menage with a little BDSM thrown in, heck no, there is some very intense scenes that may be too much for some people, but I can't stress enough how much they just work in this story. I don't want to make this any type of spoiler review so I am not going to get into that much. All I am going to say is that I fell very much in love with Evie Girl, Danny Boy and Paul Guy and I would give anything to get a look at Eve's paintings of them all, my god, I bet they are scorch your skin HOT!!

Taking a Shot (Play By Play #3) By Jaci Burton

The last thing Jenna Riley needs is more sports in her life. While her brothers are off being athletic superstars, she's stuck running the family's sports bar, whether she likes it or not. Then in walks pro hockey stud Tyler Anderson. As much as Jenna would like to go to the boards with him, she's vowed to never fall for a jock—even one as hot as Ty.

Ty, intrigued by the beautiful bar owner, becomes a regular. He senses that Jenna wants to do something more with her life. And as he gains her trust, the passion between them grows, as does Ty's insistence that Jenna should start living for herself. With his encouragement, Jenna starts to believe it, too...

But first, Jenna has to figure out what she wants, what she needs, who she loves, and if she has the passion and pride to take a shot at having it all—including Ty...

Sam's Review:

I have officially sat down four times now to write this review and keep turning up blank. Did I like it? Uh....yeah I did. It was steamy, sexy, sweaty, sultry and hot. Everything that makes a top novel in my eyes.  But there is something nagging at the back of my head that makes me not want to give this book a five star....oh yeah – Jenna. The heroine.
So this is book three in the Play by Play series. Book one and two were so much more than I anticipated them to be. And when Jenna’s turn came around I couldn’t wait!  Sadly Jenna did not however live up to the imaginary story in my head. Jenna had her head so far up her arse that it would take more than a crowbar to pry it out. Ty on the other hand - oh my.... what a man. He is my perfect incarnate.

Jenna flat out refused to date anyone sport related. Because of some pathetic reasons that were not justified  at all. She also has talents that go far beyond the realm of waitressing. And Ty goes above and beyond the call of duty to be charming, sweet and all round perfection. Ty encourages Jenna to do what she wants to do in her heart but all she does is resentment him, judge him and be a flat out bitch to him and all because he was a Hockey player. Not cool Jenna. Not cool.

The pair however was just disgustingly perfect for one another with some uber hot sex scenes. I will give Jenna credit for her bedroom exposé. That girl was confident like none other.  Sadly it took until right in the end of the book for someone to actually get the crowbar  and pry said girls head out of her arse and make her realise Ty was worth fighting for.

I not too sure how many books are in the series, but I do know that we have one more on the way at the moment. Playing to Win is Coles book, who is cousin I think. It should be another hot one.

The book was still worth the read. It was a very steamy read, but just didn’t catch me like the first two. Looking forward to the next in the Play by Play series and the new hottie to grace the book cover.

Lover Revealed (BDB #4) By J.R Ward

Butch O'Neal is a fighter by nature. A hard-living ex-homicide cop, he's the only human ever to be allowed in the inner circle of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. And he wants to go even deeper into the vampire world-to engage in the turf war with the lessers. His heart belongs to a female vampire, Marissa, an aristocratic beauty who's way out of his league. And if he can't have her, then at least he can fight side by side with the Brothers.

But fate curses him with the very thing he wants. When Butch sacrifices himself to save a civilian vampire from the slayers, he falls prey to the darkest force in the war. Left for dead, he's found by a miracle, and the Brotherhood calls on Marissa to bring him back, though even her love may not be enough to save him.

PhotobucketGrace's Review:

I have to admit when I started reading this series I was intrigued with Butch's character by the end of Dark Lover. I was wondering how things were going to end up for him being that he's a human living with the vamps...The Brotherhood, and yet not being able to fight with them, since they won't let him. I felt for Butch as he got frustrated with being caught between two worlds, feeling like an outsider on either side and feeling unworthy of winning Marissa's heart.

I loved the pairing of Butch and Marissa! As the story unfolds we find out a lot about Butch and how his family treats him. It turns out he has a lot of things in common with Marissa and can truly understand her situation. Marissa annoyed me at times throughout the story, but in the end I loved how her character finally found a sense of purpose with her immortal life. These two together...wow! Butch is so HOT, especially after...after what? Well, I won't say. Butch's journey is quite interesting and left me speechless at times along the way!

Now I have to mention the relationship with Butch and V. When an encounter with The Omega leaves Butch with a certain ability, at least Butch is able to use this new found ability for good use, but not without consequence. He has to rely on V even more now, which tightens their friendship. I'm so curious to see what happens, if anything, between them now!

Lover Revealed is a solid book in the series with bits of the other characters dispersed along the main story line as well. John Matthews story continues as he tries to deal with his emotions regarding Tohr and Wellsie. We also see more of Rhev in action...yeah! Now on to V's story! I want to get to know him better.

Half Black Soul (The Alexa Montgomery Saga #2) By H.D Gordan

In the past few weeks Alexa Montgomery has had her entire world flipped upside down. She's gone from living a semi-normal teenage life to a life full of vampires and werewolves who all expect her to deliver them from the control of an evil dictator.

Alexa is the last of her kind; a Sun Warrior, and now she has left the safety of Two Rivers to search for her mother, but she's left her sister behind to do so, and Nelly is the one person that she was told that she must always protect. Kayden, a vampire who is Alexa's other half, has followed her on her journey. But, secrets are about to come out, relationships will break and danger lies just up ahead. Will Alexa be able to get through all of this and make it out alive? And, will she be able to protect Nelly from danger when she is so far away?

PhotobucketElena's review:

Wow!! Holy Shmokes!

I was told this series would "Knock my socks off" and it did, TEN FOLDS!

Hoo Boy!! I don't know where to start.
The first novel in the series is "Blood Warrior" I didn't have a feel to it,till,I hit that 52% mark,my reading pace picked up a notch. It took me a few moments to realize I was holding in my breath. It was THAT good! You get the feel of the characters and their backgrounds. The main characters are young staring off at 17,some may say its a ya series, & I would think so as well. I would compare it to the "Vampire Academy" series by Richelle Mead. But I enjoyed this series much better. There's more to it then just different vampires and ,yadda, yadda, yadda! In this novel it explains more about the supernatural beings, and how many are becoming extinct, they are Lamia's which are like vampires just with a little weirdness to them. There's Searchers whom can read a persons mind and soul, werewolves, and so much more! hmmm what else am i missing? Oooo the WARRIORS! Rwar! Lol!! Sorry but the warriors are my favorite part in this novel, the Heroine,Alexa is a Sun Warrior, her character amped up this series, she ROCKS!

Okay! Enough of all that. Lol!

After you get the feel to the characters and the storyline the author introduces you to a world full of perfection, till people start noticing, theres something missing in the picture. The second book will keep your mind reeling. It's Amazing!

Alexa is much fiercer and stronger then ever. Her sister Nelly is done being tied up in a cocoon. And so much more unravels. The secrets, betrayals, hurt and lies, lead up to one thing. The King has authority to do as he pleases and wishes. People live in doubt and fear. He's got another thing coming for him,if he thinks it'll last forever. Alexa is on a mission,to fill in all the missing pieces, not giving a damn if it causes a war (like i said she ROCKS!) Alexa finds out her mother that was pronounced dead in book 1,is actually still alive,so who's lying and making up stories to cover their own hinies? Over time,it will reveal its self, the novel left off in a cliffhanger and totally left me at a "jaw dropping" moment.

Pssss...btw,Alexa is a player,Lol!! Just kidding! Ummm not, I'm serious :P How did she manage to get three guys to swoon over her? Lucky chick! Lol!! But only one truly loves her,who will it be? Jackson, the werewolf? Tommy, the Vampire? Or Kayden, the warrior/Libia and the much older and yummiest man? *wiggles eyebrows* hehe!! *sighs* betrayals,betrayals,betrayals....

But all in all,its an amazing series,if the third book was out I would have picked it up to read and not be sitting here jotting down my thoughts. Lol!! Oh gosh! I can't wait for book 3!

Dynamite................

A large, powerfully-built guy meets a woman at a bar. After a number of drinks, they agree to go back to his place. As they are making out in the bedroom, he stands up and starts to undress. After he takes his shirt off, he flexes his muscular arms and says, "See that, baby? That''s 1000 pounds of dynamite!" She begins to drool. The man drops his pants, strikes a bodybuilder''s pose, and says, referring to his bulging thighs, "See those, baby? That''s 1000 pounds of dynamite!" She is aching for action at this point. Finally, he drops his underpants, and after a quick glance, she grabs her purse and runs screaming to the front door. He catches her before she is able to leave and asks, "Why are you in such a hurry to go?" She replies, "With 2000 pounds of dynamite and such a short fuse, I was afraid you were about to blow!"

Soulless (Parasol Protectorate #1) By Gail Carriger

Alexia Tarabotti is laboring under a great many social tribulations. First, she has no soul. Second, she's a spinster whose father is both Italian and dead. Third, she was rudely attacked by a vampire, breaking all standards of social etiquette.
Where to go from there? From bad to worse apparently, for Alexia accidentally kills the vampire -- and then the appalling Lord Maccon (loud, messy, gorgeous, and werewolf) is sent by Queen Victoria to investigate.

With unexpected vampires appearing and expected vampires disappearing, everyone seems to believe Alexia responsible. Can she figure out what is actually happening to London's high society? Will her soulless ability to negate supernatural powers prove useful or just plain embarrassing? Finally, who is the real enemy, and do they have treacle tart?

SOULLESS is a comedy of manners set in Victorian London: full of werewolves, vampires, dirigibles, and tea-drinking.

Photobucket
Ren's Review:

Fans of Historical and Paranormal, must read this.

I regret that it took me so long to read Soulless. Gail Carriger is such at storytelling, although its a little hard for me to understand the story in the beginning, (since she use an advanced English words and English not my native)

People said Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison is the most refreshing paranormal for this year, but for me Soulless is, despite it was published 2 years ago. The story is so original, it has vampires, werewolves, ghosts, and add a new kind in paranormal world, preternatural. Preternatural is not supernatural, nor natural. It can make supernatural seem human.Preternatural’s are different from zombies. They just don't have a soul. Imagine what difficulty Alexia has to endure to become preternatural (and half - Italian too). But unfortunately, she has her parasol to face it all.

This book knocked my socks off despite the slow opening until the middle part, the story flows like when I’m  watching  a movie, which is good! Can I have a parasol like Miss Alexia Tarabotti, so I can catch a werewolf alpha like Lord Conall Maccon? Or befriend with the eccentric vampire Lord Akeldama? *grin*

What I love from this book, despite the steampunk genre that is not my cup of tea, are the characters and story itself. The biggest star of this book of course was Miss Alexia Tarabotti. Born as half italian, a spinster and blue stocking, no wife material, always mocked by her family, especially her sisters, which didn’t break her down and put her in a corner.Instead she is witty, smart and sarcastic. I think sarcasm might be her middle name after all.

“How ghastly for her,” said Alexia, driven beyond endurance into comment. “People actually thinking, with their brains, and right next door. Oh, the travesty of it all.”

Then her bantering with Lord Conall Maccon, a werewolf, the fourth Earl of Woolsey , and alpha of Woolsey pack, I found him cute.

“Mark my words, I will use something much, much stronger than smelling salts,” came a growl in Miss Tarabotti's left ear. The voice was low and tinged with a hint of Scotland. It would have caused Alexia to shiver and think primal monkey thoughts about moons and running far and fast, if she'd had a soul. Instead it caused her to sigh in exasperation and sit up.

“And a good evening to you, too, Lord Maccon. Lovely weather we are having for this time of year, is it not?” She patted at her hair, which was threatening to fall down without the hair stick in its proper place.

It’s interesting to see their relationship work. Alexia is not innocent, but she never guesses Lord Maccon wour could love her, even she makes a mistake in their first meeting which includes a hedgehog. Conall might be old, but when its come to relationships between men and woman, he is clueless like Alexia was. Good thing he have his Beta, Professor Randolph Lyall, who gives the best advice in human relationships. Alexia-Conall’s romantic scenes are not so steamy, but written well. It made my heart so happy when they kissed, lol.. And when finally they declared love to each other :

“Well, my love,” said Alexia with prodigious daring to Lord Maccon, “shall we?”
The earl started to move forward and then stopped abruptly and looked down at her, not moving at all. “Am I?”
“Are you what?” She peeked up at him through her tangled hair, pretending confusion. There was no possible way she was going to make this easy for him.
“Your love?”
“Well, you are a werewolf, Scottish, naked, and covered in blood, and I am still holding your hand.”
He sighed in evident relief. “Good. That is settled, then.”

There are so many interesting character in Soulless who will make you enjoy this story like Lord Akeldama, Alexia's flamboyant vampire friend, Miss Ivy Hesselpeny, Alexia's friend (with horrible taste of hats.) Floote,Alexia's Buttler, Countess Nadasdy, Queen of Westminster Hive or vampire community and many more.

Envy by J.R. Ward

Seven deadly sins. Seven souls to save. And a man and a woman treading the lines of danger, desire and deliverance ...As the son of a serial killer, homicide detective Thomas DelVecchio Jr grew up in the shadow of evil. Now, on the knife-edge between civic duty and blind retribution, he atones for the sins of his father. Hired to monitor Veck is Internal Affairs officer Sophia Reilly, whose interest in Veck is both professional and arousingly personal. But Veck and Sophia have a common interest. He's Jim Herron, a mysterious stranger enlisted to save the soul of a killer's latest victim, one precariously hovering between heaven and hell. Before Herron's job is done, Veck and Sophia will be inexorably drawn into a battle of good against evil, where the risk is nothing less than total damnation.

Rhonda's Review:
After reading Lover Unleashed, I learned that DelVecchio who became Detective de la Cruz’s new partner in Lover Unleashed would be the key player in the next book to the Fallen Angel’s series. I will say that I adore Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series, and I have liked her Fallen Angel’s series okay, but was never left eager for the next book, so I didn’t read this right away.  Well the Warden worked her magic with this book. It was exactly what I would expect from Ward and I loved every single page and loved Jim, Adrian and Eddie even more. And the H/h were so cute and sweet together. But make no mistake DelVecchio is all alpha male!

As the playing field of good vs. evil is again open for round 3, Envy begins where Lover Unleashed ended. Veck is waiting for the serial killer David Kroner in the woods, and has his own brand of justice he’s ready to deliver.  After blacking out and waking up to a bloody mutilated Kroner, and not having any recollection of the events that had taken place, Veck finds himself under scrutiny and also  assigned a new partner from the Internal Affairs Division.  Veck is the son of a convicted serial  killer, and has had his struggles being the son of Thomas DelVecchio serial killer extraordinaire.  Well, it’s not just his father’s fan club out to cause him trouble,  Devina is back and ready to play.  She manages to throw her influence all over the place in this story, starting with Veck who begins to think he has a multiple personality disorder.  Devina hardly leaves anyone untouched as she tries to secure the win in this round.  But Jim is bringing his “A“ game this time, going so far as to barter himself to Devina for information that Nigel won’t give him.

When Veck and Sophia Reilly first meet, the undeniable attraction spells trouble for the both of them.  Reilly seems to be a bit of a loaner, and very by-the-book when it comes to her job.  She’s smart, organized and careful, also kind and compassionate when it comes to Veck.  That is until Veck becomes a suspect in the murder of Cecilia Barton (Sissy).  From this point, the story goes full steam ahead until the end.  And what a ending it was!!

I don’t want to give too many details here, because this story was so enjoyable to unravel. There is a continuing story going on here with Jim and the girl Sissy from the previous books.  There is a bit of forensics involved as well, but wasn’t overdone, I mean these are cops we’re dealing with in this story. Besides I like that kind of stuff anyway.  I loved Veck and Reilly and how they didn’t spend a lot of time denying, avoiding or analyzing  their attraction to each other. Jim Herron has grown in to his powers more, even if he’s not sure how, it’s awesome!! I have found myself liking him more and more with each book.  I also loved the continuing story of Adrian, Eddie, and Jim. The growth of all the characters even Devina is so enjoyable. Devina was very enjoyable in a “love to hate” sort of way.  JR Ward keeps straddling the fence on the M/M storyline, never fully giving in to it…yet.  Maybe she’s testing the waters, who knows.  But there is a scene involving Eddie and Adrian where she touched down with the tip of her toe.  ;)   Nigel and Colin are still in the “fade to black” stage.  Now at the end of this story I was left wondering if we are going to cross back over to the BDB series some with this one, which I really liked.  I think for the readers of this series, most will find this one to be so much better.  So if you’ve started this series, and haven’t gotten to this one yet, I urge you to take the plunge.

The Harlot (Taskill Witches #1) By Saskia Walker

It is a Dark Era, one when a lusty lass will do what she must to survive. Even if it means bartering flesh for a palmful of coins…

Forced to watch her mother burned at the stake and separated from her siblings in the aftermath, Jessie Taskill is similarly gifted, ripe with a powerful magic that must stay hidden. Until one night when she's accused by a rival, and Jessie finds herself behind prison walls with a roguish priest unlike any man of the cloth she has known.

In reality, Gregor Ramsay is as far from holy as the devil himself, but his promise of freedom in return for her services may be her salvation. Locked into a dubious agreement, Jessie resents his plan to have her seduce and ruin his lifelong enemy. But toying with Gregor’s lust for her is enjoyable, and she agrees to be his pawn while secretly intending to use him just as he is using her.

Holly's Review:

I really enjoyed this book and if I seem a little surprised by this, well, I am! This is not your typical Historical Romance, even though it takes place in 18th Century Scotland, I think I would categorize it more a Historical Erotic Romance, lots of hot sex!! :) - They don't call Jessie Taskill 'The Harlot of Dundee' for nothing. She is a wonderful heroine, fiesty, brazen and full of life without being obnoxious, and and btw, she is a witch!! That is how she meets Gregor Ramsy, she is in a bar fight with another 'working girl' when she is accused of using her witchcraft to in the fight. This all makes Gregor take notice, not only does he feel a certain draw to her but feels she would be perfect to play the key part in his plot for revenge against his long time enemy, so he agrees to get her out of jail, where she has ended up waiting to be hanged for witchcraft, in return for her help.

Now, this may sound like a pretty basic plot but I give it 4 stars for the characters also, we are not just dealing with your basic whore and angry man bent on revenge! Both Jessie and Gregor are very in depth characters that are a lot more amazing than they seem on the surface, their chemistry is amazing and they really make the story a page turner, well that, and all the great sex!!! I don't to give anymore of the story away but I recommend this book, especially if you like Steamy Historical Romance!!

Inhale by Kendall Grey

Strangers in reality, inseparable in dreams…

After years of suffocating under her boss’s scrutiny, whale biologist Zoe Morgan finally lands a job as director of a tagging project in Hervey Bay, Australia. Success Down Under all but guarantees her the promotion of a lifetime, and Zoe won’t let anything—or anyone—stand in her way. Not the whale voices she suddenly hears in her head, not the ex who won’t take no for an answer, and especially not the gorgeous figment of her imagination who keeps saving her from the fiery hell of her dreams.

Gavin Cassidy hasn’t been called to help a human Wyldling in over a year, which is fine by him. Still blaming himself for the death of his partner, he keeps the guilt at bay by indulging in every excess his rock star persona affords. That is, until he’s summoned to protect Zoe from hungry Fyre Elementals and learns his new charge is the key to restoring order in the dying Dreaming. He never expects to fall for the feisty Dr. Morgan…nor does he realize he may have to sacrifice the woman he loves to save an entire country.

 Grace's Review

Vividly Brilliant!

As the first book of the Just Breathe trilogy, Inhale proves to be an urban fantasy book not to be missed! I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I started reading Inhale. All I knew was that the story had whales, a rock star and takes place in Australia. Cool! I love each of those things separately, let's see how it all comes together.

Introducing us to a parallel world called The Dreaming, Kendall Grey creatively weaves the lives of Zoe Morgan, a passionate whale biologist, and Gavin Cassidy, a rock star-tatted hottie. In reality the two don't know each other as they live their separate lives. Zoe is in charge of a whale tagging project in Hervey Bay, Australia. Gavin is uninspired and trying to survive his rock star life. They meet in their dreams and the story just takes off from there!

Not only did the story come together, each chapter leaves you wanting more! The ending left my heart racing! Kendall Grey has written a brilliant story that I think will appeal to many people. Do you like strong heroines? Zoe is a woman on a mission and not afraid to fight for what she wants. Do you like rock star heroes? Well, Gavin is swoon-worthy as he shows off his guitar skills, as well as his protective nature! The author beautifully and vividly brings to life the classical elements of air, fire, earth and water in her imaginative world building, includes the spirit of Aboriginal lore and gives a voice to the gentle, giant creatures of the sea. So if you're a fan of whales, you'll enjoy this one too! Plus, the author is donating all profits from the sale of the Just Breathe trilogy to whale education.

Like I said, urban fantasy and paranormal romance fans, don't miss out on this one!  Be prepared to be whisked away into this story and then go tell a mate about it!  Inhale by Kendall Grey is available May 1, 2012.  Book 2-Exhale is expected to come out in June 2012.

  Turn The Pages

A man and his wife got into bed for the night. The wife had curled up ready for sleep and the husband put his bed lamp on to read a book. As he was reading, he stopped and reached over to his wife and started fondling her girly parts. He did this only for a very short while then stopped and went back to reading his book.

The wife got up and started stripping in front of him. The husband was confused and asked, "What the hell are doing, taking all your jammies off?" The wife replied, "You were playing with my girly parts. I thought it was foreplay for
something a bit heavier".

The husband said, "Hell no! I was just wetting my fingers so I could turn the pages."

My Reaction: Hmmmmm....That's kinda gross, yet, funny as heck at the same time. Wicked! LOL!!!

"Small Press Treasures" Blog Hop

Over the course of the past year, the ladies here at S,E,R’s have had the pleasure of reading some really awesome books by some super fabulous authors. And to our surprise,a lot of these books came from Small press and independent authors.Well it comes as no surprise to us now that an incredible book can be found beyond the major publishers. So  for the next week we are very excited to put the spotlight on these authors who have commanded our attention, made us take notice, and turned us into a bunch of squealing  fan girls awaiting their next book! (These authors are mentioned in no particular order)

The path that was laid out before us started with a Sassy, snarky empath named Piper Anast. Rachel Firasek took us on her journey with Piper and her unique crime fighting skills along with the sexy Slade, and left us clamoring for the next book.  Firasek also introduced us to her creative Curse of the Phoenix series and gave us a  new world, and characters to love.
As our journey into the unknown continued we discovered  Mrs. E.L. James who brought us the lusty, naughty love story between Ana Steele, Christian Grey and his “fifty shades of fucked up“.  Fifty ruled our thoughts to the point it was hard to wrap our minds around the next books on our TBR.
Mrs. Carolyn Crane….. How fantastic is this author who took us into an awesome Urban Fantasy world and gave us a unique story with Justine Jones a hypochondriac who learns to use her hypochondria to work for her instead of against her, with the help of the sexy Packard.  Crane gives us a colorful cast of characters to love, and the wait for Head Rush was exhausting, but well worth it!
Along the way, we happened to come across a  book by Debra Anastasia called Poughkeepsie.WOW!! We could go on for days about this fabulous lady who tells us a heartwarming story of love, courage, heartbreak, loyalty, and self discovery where a young lady falls in love with a homeless man. Mrs. Anastasia’s story is full of some of the funniest most amazing characters, it has left us in dire need of the next story, as well as made our top favorite shelf! She also tells us a story in Crushed Seraphim where good and evil collide and find a love worth sacrificing for, and the devil has never been so sexy!!
J.M. Darhower….. “Sempre”!  This book was an amazing, crazy terrific ride! Darhower took a cause she believes in and centered her story around it, incorporated the Italian Mafia, and the outcome was  SIMPLY FANTASTIC! With a cast of characters that will steal your heart and leave you wanting more, Darhower landed on the top shelf too!
J.A. Saare swept us off to New York with the awesome, outspoken necromancer Rhiannon Murphy, and the super sexy vampire Disco in her PNR novel, Dead Undead and Somewhere in Between.  After leaving us out on that cliff, we were chomping at the bit for the next book. Saare delivered a wild crazy ride with The Renfield Syndrome that did not disappoint!  After throwing us 100 years in to the future and  hanging us out on that cliff again, we are super excited that the next book will be coming soon.
Diving into the world of BDSM Novels,  we found Kallypso Masters new “Rescue Me” series, to be all kinds of toe curling yummy. Love her writing style, which is simply beautiful, and thus makes her one of our most anticipated authors. We love Kally, and can’t wait for the upcoming releases!
To our Surprise, author C.J. Roberts took us to a dark place in Captive in the Dark, her debut full length novel where Livvy is abducted to be used as a pawn in Gabe’s quest for vengeance.  Roberts is an author to watch,  this lady can seriously write! Her sequel Seduced in the Dark, lands on our most anticipated list for 2012.
Laura Hunsaker took us on a time travel adventure with super sexy highlander in Highland Destiny. This was a fast paced, hard to put down novel.  If you enjoy time travel, and historical fiction, you’ll enjoy this one!
Some of our other favorite authors who have brought Greek mythology to the table, and a little PNR is Laura Kaye, her new series Hearts of the Anemoi introduced us to a new series featuring a different tale of Greek Mythology, and Owen Winters will certainly make you lick your lips, and ask for more.Another great author that brings the Greek mythology to the table is Lisa Beth Darling, and her “Of War” series. Darling’s stories are dark, mysterious, and challenging. She will keep you turning the pages, and the stories will stay with you for quite some time. Next, Rosalie Lario, her stories are full of twists and turns, and lots of demonic fun!
